Houston has become more diversified with its economy. The Medical Center is a jewel.....but north Texas is attracting all the corporate transplants

It’s been about a year and a half. It’s a little better but still a long ways away. Houston is changing similarly but still a long way to go. If you live in either city downtown isn’t a huge destination to go out in unless you’re going to a Mavs game or Astros/Rockets

It’s hard to argue that Houston’s economy isn’t mainly driven by energy, petrochemical and oil and gas.
Yes medical also plays a role but nothing close to the latter I mentioned.

Tha frick?
Ive lived in both places 5yrs+ and this couldnt be further from the truth.
Dallas infrastructure is way ahead of the population, one of the few things I like about Dallas more than Houston.

DFW has a more diversified economy than Houston as DFW is becoming a corporate headquarter hub. Houston like South Louisiana is more dependent on the price of oil

with a far more diverse economy.
I don't give a shite about this "debate," but this is just factually false. Houston is dependent on oil and gas where as Dallas has a much more diverse economy. O&G, retail, American airlines, technology, among others.
Also, when did you move to Houston?

Dallas is far better than Houston. It’s not even close. Everyone bitches about humidity so stop acting like Houston folks walk outside when it’s 95 degrees with 100% humidity and comment on how comfortable it feels. Traffic is much easier to navigate in Dallas, toll roads or otherwise. Uptown, lower Greenville, west village, bishop arts etc are better than anything Houston has to offer. Houston’s economy is tied to energy. Easy way to determine this is if ever energy company shuts down what happens to Houston?

most people that live there are in a constant battle with other people to prove how much money they can spend as they max out their credit cards.
No doubt there is pretentiousness here. But it's easy to avoid if you want to.... Stay out of uptown for starts. And people aren't necessarily maxing out CCs. There are vast numbers of real ballers here. I didn't realize this until I had lived here a few years and got to know some of these 30thousand dollar millionaires.... Turns out they are really millionaires..... It's kind of shocking to realize so many wealthy, young people live here.

Why did this need another thread?
They’re both average cities. Let’s all move on.

Dallas’s tollways seem to always be clogged up with traffic, which defeats the purpose.

I will say that the Dallas burbs edge out Houston’s, but inside the loop of Houston kicks inner Dallas’s arse. Houston still has great suburbs, with The Woodlands being the king of any suburb in Texas (kiss my arse).

These prove that you've been to Dallas once and are a fricking idiot.

I work pretty far out and can get to and from work in 15 mins on average. That is better than Nola traffic and 100x better than Houston. I also take the interstate and highways
