So what is the causal relationship between conservative policy and poverty?

What? The popular vote in Jefferson County went to Clinton because of Birmingham.

Didn't Alabama just elect a DEMOCRAT for Senator?

Your entire melt just blew up in your face.

Thanks Dems for such a shithole!

The liberal ability to pretend they don't understand what drives these stats is comical

Someone has never traveled to a third world country.

I’ve always felt like people in Alabama have the freedom to sink or swim. There are plenty of employment opportunities in every region. Public education sucks but it largely depends on individual student motivation to learn. We virtually have trade schools within an hours drive of every town. Every single one of them offer refundable (upon completion) GED programs.
Yet some folks decide to stay ignorant and poor...and that’s sad. But how can you force someone to take advantage of all of the opportunities around them? That’s the real question.
Alabama has problems but I don’t know how much you can put on the backs of republicans or democrats. Some folks just suck at life and apparently we have plenty of them here.

Hmmm, don't give a hoot what the UN thinks or doesn't think.

You should have a look at the dumbocrat-run paradise of Hawaii: crumbling infrastructure, increasing drug addiction, trash piles in the streets and homeless around every corner. And that's just in Honolulu. At least Alabama doesn't claim to be paradise.

I've been to over a dozen third world countries. Alabama doesn't even come close. Hell, at times, Alabama will eclipse France or Italy in many thjngay

Alabama has one of the countries oldest non-updated State Constitutions in the USA, in fact it might even be the oldest.

It's like other states use a satellite medium to conduct business and here you have Alabama using the pony express and a canal system...

Worst poverty in the developed world is a bullshite statistic. What it means that a large percentage of people make less than half of the median income. That half of the median income would make you in the 1% of the richest people in some developed nations and all of the third world nations.

The problem is that you have so many people not working that they don't make shite to count in the statistic. When I lived in South Texas, Starr County was the poorest county in America. But when you drive through Rio Grande City, you see a lot of luxury cars. Why, if they are so poor according to the statistics? Because drug money does not get reported to the government.

If you think people having a house, two TVs, a car, and an iPhone is poor, then you need to travel to other nations.
