Family friend of mine and her (no pics) husband have one that’s a couple years old now. Her dad was fricking pissed when they got the dog, said if that dog ever attacks her that he’s going to where they live and kicking the shite out of her husband. The dog is a nice dog, seems fairly gentle.
Well, a couple of weeks ago they decided to get another fricking pit bull. I was talking to her brother who is one of my best friends about it. He said he just doesn’t understand, they already tested their luck with the one, now they’re pretty much spitting in God’s face getting the second one. The dad is even more pissed now because when there’s two of those things if one starts attacking something the other will attack as well. They’re planning on having children soon I think too and the dad is genuinely livid of the fact that they could have a baby living with two pits.
Damndest thing is they’re otherwise not trashy people, I guess everybody has something trashy about them in some way?
Eta: there’s no way in hell I’d ever own a pit bull.

I had the hate Pit view before I had one; now, I just believe they are big, muscular scary looking dogs that can be dangerous. Mine is not.

2016 fatal dog attack statistics by breed:

frick I hate pit bulls so much. One attacked our dog and was growling at my grandfather backing him into a corner at our house one time. Just ran up unattended, collar and all. The pit bull had already attacked a friend of mines aunt in the neighborhood and shredded her arm. No one had caught it yet. My dad said frick this and got a shotgun and shot it point blank with 3.5 inch shell. Blew its gd head off. Found out it belonged to a guy who was dating a girl who lived next door to a friend of mine. The shithead would bring his dog over and just let it roam. He’s an a-hole, his piece of shite dead dog is an a-hole. Good riddance. Coincidentally....well, let’s just say the owner probably doesn’t listen to a lot of Dan Fogelberg.

He did, she was fat. There was a thread about it once, but it got deleted for her sake. I know it is surprising given his love for soccer but I seen it.

Since you seem like a gambling man, you should try hiding a loaded Glock in the kid's toybox and see how that works out as well.

Yes

You realize that LITERALLY EVERY frickING PERSON says this about their pit. I've never met someone who claims their pit is dangerous or aggressive or anything but the sweetest, most gentle dog. And yet, every week we get to hear about some old lady getting tackled or some toddler ending up in the hospital.

And what does that have to do with adopting a rescue pit when you have 3 young children?

Pics of the dog missing its hair would shut em up pretty quickly.

Joehat or asshat?
C'mon man. Seriously.
What you said is fricking VERBATIM to every other killer pit owner......pre-attack. Re-read --- pre-attack.
I have 3 young kids.....so I say this from the bottom of my heart - frick you!
Whats going to happen when they are running in the house, trip and accidentally poke it in the eye? What is going to happen when the dog accidentally steps on their foot and scratches them, and immediately scream in pain and push the dog off of them?
She won't bite the master of the house's hand while trying to eat? No shite.... what's going to happen when your little ones are feeding her treats, and one of them gets made cause the other skipped their turn.... so they reach down and snatch the treat right out of the dog's mouth?? Are you aware that your dog feels that you are its clear master but your children are on its same level?
PS -- each and every one of these is actual incidents mentioned have happened in my house in the last 2 years.... but of course, I don't house a preternatural killing machine... just a 20 pound 14 year old mutt that can barely walk at this point.
