I honestly don't know how anyone says they are 'great' dogs. Almost all dogs can have a bad day. Pits and all the breeds called pits are just built to fight and kill, they have huge muscular heads, jaws, and chests. I mean even the few pit type dogs I've known that are super good dogs make me nervous as hell around my kids and dogs.

My parents friend have a 'pit' mutt and it's a great dog, buts it's a beast of a dog and strong as shite. It's loves to fetch surprising and my golden retriever and it play occasionally. But it makes me nervous as hell that one day it would just snap and there won't be a damn thing I can do because it's strong as shite.

I got attacked by a German Shepard just walking in my neighborhood. I didn’t have to sue, his homeowners insurance I believe covered my expenses. I had a broken wrist though.

Just be glad your gf was walking a dog instead of taking a child out for a stroll.

Most pits are good dogs. But they all have potential to snap and do some really harmful stuff.

Vets should be required to neuter them whenever they are brought in for care until the species doesn’t exist anymore.

I have three young kids, another dog in the house, and people who visit regularly, and we came across a rescue pit mix a year and 1/2 ago and adopted it. It just happened. She’s a bit small for a pit but has never, even once, shown aggression to my old dog, my kids, or to our neighbor’s dog and I’ve tested her multiple times and will put my hand in her mouth while she’s trying to eat.

I had the hate Pit view before I had one; now, I just believe they are big, muscular scary looking dogs that can be dangerous. Mine is not.
