Leftist: Why do you respond differently to mass shootings vs Muslim terrorist?

When a Muslim commits a terrorist attack, y’all are quick to say dont judge all Muslim based on the actions of one sick individual. When a gunman commits a mass shooting, the first instinct is to blame all gun owners instead of the sick individual.
Why do you respond differently to gun owners vs Muslims?

You can easily switch that around and catch the right as hypocrites you know.

Politics, it really is all politics over Americans rights....

maybe because liberals are stacked slap full of shite?
Posted on 2/14/18 at 10:23 pm to Redleg Guy
Not really. Republicans always blame the person. Not the tool they use.

That’s just around here, it’s just a shitty narrative that’s isn’t based on anything. Out in the real world liberals would’ve been happy to change gun laws after Pulse or any of the others.

Answer the question. Why blame a group of people for the actions of one individual?
Posted on 2/14/18 at 10:34 pm to Redleg Guy
NO.
The Quran TEACHES them to kill those who won’t submit to Islam. But the left still wants to bring in Muslims and the Quran and teach it at schools and in jails where many prisoners become terrorists.
Conservative gunowners are not teaching their teens to shoot up classrooms when they’ve had a rough year. The violence and violent deaths committed in the name of Islam on a global scale FAR outnumbers the number of deaths from non Islam related mass killings. FAR outnumbers.

Ehh, that doesn’t really hold up. 1) Republicans here certainly don’t always blame only the person. 2) There’s a strong argument to be made that radical islam is the tool used to drive these mentally impaired losers to kill. And it unquestionably gets plenty of due blame.

the first instinct is to blame all gun owners

When their first instinct is to yell “we need gun control”, then they are blaming all gun owners at that point.
Posted on 2/14/18 at 10:56 pm to Bourre
Because it is easier to identify and prevent the extreme Muslims from committing these types of atrocities without violating the rights of current US citizens.

But they do blame the tool (gun) and not the psycho behind it.

In any event, it is unquestionably true that the left absolutely refuses to extrapolate terrorism beyond an isolated event. I would actually argue that Clinton lost the election because of the simple inability to articulate a rational response to the Orlando massacre. Instead of making at least some kind of nominal call out of radical islam, she immediately jumped to gun control and then blaming Americans for being islamophobic.

1) Islam is an ideology that cannot be taken away, we only want to be extra sure we are letting the right ones in. They have no “right” to come here.
2) Gun ownership IS a right and that right shall not ever be infringed upon.
And frankly, the comparison is apples and oranges.

Radical Islam is a causative agent. Not a tool. You could say that the person themself is the tool that purveyors of radical Islam use to commit atrocities.

Is that why after 9/11 the Bush Administration created the TSA and now folks go through full-body scans to get on airplanes?

The TSA banned planes?
I’m against the TSA and increased security at airports anyway.

No, but every person now has to go through increased security to get on one.
