Kern does them so likely not.

Thought I had heard they never owned their floats.

On Basin just off Canal on the side of the old Krauss building. It's a large crowd but there's no barricades and you can move right to the front if you want. Everyone is there just having a good time

We caught 16 coconuts last year. Now, granted they didn’t come easy. A lot of those riders wouldn’t throw coconuts to white people. They were very prejudicial.

Not going this year. Just gonna catch Rex, King of Carnival and some truck parades and call it a day.

I got one in the early 80's. I kept it for years and then threw it away.

Yep. My family and I never left a Zulu parade without being handed at least one coconut, usually two.

Also, you do know there are quite a few white folks in Zulu, right?

Back when I used to have my liquor inventory business we had the account for the Zulu Social Aid & Pleasure Club. They’re probably the only krewe I know of that meets weekly and has a clubhouse where people actually go and hang out on a regular basis. They’re good people.

I was even invited to join but I was already riding in Thoth.

Do they still break down all the time?

I know I'm late to the thread.... [pauses for effect]

But, Zulu starts late, runs late, breaks down - those motherfrickers take courses between Mardi Gras on just how to be the latest, greatest parade in the world. Champions of it. Zulu being "late" isn't something they do - it's who they are.

What’s the all-ladies parade that throws decorated heels? Those are probably harder to come by than Zulu coconuts and it’s all white women.

I ride in Zulu. Throw coconuts to white people all the time.
