O thinks we were good enough in 2016

Never mind that we coughed it up to the only 2 decent teams we played, O thinks he deserved the job based off of what he did as interim.
So of course he has no reason to change
So of course Ensminger as OC makes a ton of sense to him.
This is a fricking problem because that team wasn’t going to win a championship.

Losing to Florida when LSU really outplayed them that year really hurt. Wouldn't we have gone to the Sugar Bowl if LSU had won that game?

And people will not h about how we should have won, but we fricked up so many times. We had great ball on the 1 and ran a FB Dive
Put Injured Fournette out there and he gets you 1 yard in 2 tries.

To be fair, didn't Dante Jackson lose a fumble or two and let a receiver get behind him on a Go-route for a TD?
Probably. Now why Guice ran the wrong way (was supposed to break it outside to the left instead of going up the middle) is a mystery to me. He would have clearly scored as the TE (not sure who it was, Morreau maybe?) had cleanly blocked the linebacker to that side.

He ran the wrong way coming out of a fricking time out.

I really wished we would have just let Miles run his contract out. This was not an upgrade.

The players lost the Florida game not the coaches. Fumble at the 5 then give up 95 yard pass td. 14 point swing right there then Guice going the wrong way. Players not coaching

Les is very much like Dale Brown. The programs needed them when they arrived and they both did a super job but both should have exited several years before they did.

This is gonna be a very long off season

using this logic no coach is ever at fault. if players win their 1 on 1 battle a qb draw can go for a td every play.

and who is responsible for making sure the players are focused on critical plays? is it the person making millions or the player limited to 20 hours of on the field practice in the week?
maybe the coaches should have gotten in guice's ear and made sure he knew the play

Who prepares the players? Dante was beaten so many to including last season.
Guice running the wrong way was on the coaches to make sure, coming out of a TO, they all knew their assignments.
Your shy argument can’t explain 0 points and 130 yds total offense against a Bama team that others had put up points on. Couldn’t move close enough when we were already at the 35 or so with an INT in the first quarter.
I’m gonna post this AGAIN FOR MORONS LIKE YOU!
For comparison sake we will use the 2015 Miles “Hot Seat” season where he went 8-3 in the regular season with the cancellation of the McNeese State game (a highly probable win)and finished 9-3
This is a good barometer for the program status:
In 2017, O is 6-2 with 2 wins against a team with a winning SEC record. Counting TAMU because they were 4-3 when we played them (ended at 4-4).
In 2015 Miles was 5-3 in SEC games. 3 of the five had a winning records TAMU and MSU were both 4-4. Again LSU gave them a loss so they were 4-3 without the LSU game.
If you drop the 4-4 teams it is eerily similar as follows with wins over 7 win teams:
In 2015 LSU beat UF who won the east.
In 2017, LSU beat AU who won the west.
The main difference between the 2 seasons was the Strength of Schedule
In 2017, the SoS is 49.
Massey Rating of 21
2015, SoS was Number 2
Massey Rating of 6
Here is how e hired that bastard:
Prior to SE
The games we lost to were the number 2 and 14 ranked defenses in Wisconsin and Auburn. Then Les was run.

Here are the mighty teams we beat and how they rank on defense:
This is out of 128 teams.
Southern Miss total defense 19; rush defense 54
TAMU total defense 96; rush defense 83
Arkansas total defense 84; rush defense 102
Ole Miss total defense 101; rush defense 113
Missouri total defense 117; rush defense 118.
What the hell does this say about how difficult it is to call plays against these teams?
Texas Tech had a better rush defense than Missouri to put that into perspective.

I agree on those plays. That's on the players, not coaches. Jackson had a tendency to be overly aggressive sometimes and that's why he got beat by the Florida receiver on the 95 yard TD on the fly pattern. Common sense should have told him to give the receiver a cushion when they had Florida on their own 5-yard line. They could afford to give up short pass completions at that point, and Jackson likely knew how fast the guy was.
On Guice going the wrong way coming out of the timeout, I'm not sure who to blame, but it does seem like the coaches should have made sure he knew his assignment. It didn't look like a run-to-daylight play to me, it seemed designed to go the left from the get-go. LSU would have definitely scored on the play had Guice went left.
