Costa Rica - Any advice?

Headed to Costa Rica in a month, with a group of about 7-8 people. Looking for suggestions regarding places to stay, things to do, stuff to see, etc.
We will be there for 7 days, and were thinking of staying in San Jose just two days (the day we land and the day we fly out). For the rest of the time we had loosely planned staying somewhere near the Pacific Coast.

Heading there in April - Manuel Antonio, Jaco & Arenal.
You’re going next month and don’t have places to stay? Planning to drive from SJO or fly elsewhere/bus?
What type of stuff are y’all looking for? Relaxing, fishing, adventure, nefarious things?

get a driver. Its like $100 a day for a driver and he will take you anywhere and act as a tour guide/interpreter. Its well worth the money.
Ive been to a few different places in costa rica but monteverde was my favorite. The ride up is awesome if you are a thrill seeker and the weather is perfect up there.

You're going in a month and don't have a place to stay?
I'd fix that now, before you go.

Have to stay in Montezuma at least a couple of nights. See Mal Pias and explore that peninsula.
Maybe Tamarindo next then over to Arenal before back to the city.

Going in June, staying in Manuel Antonio. Good mix of beach/bars and restaurants/outdoor activities. Also heard great things about Arenal and Montezuma, but we only have 5 days so we're just staying in one spot.
