Louisiana

Thoughts?

First thing that pops out is that whoever makes this list hasn’t been to the Bluffs in two years.

Contraband Bayou about the C.C. at the nugget?

Yeah, these people don’t really do much research. The Bluffs in its current condition should be on the list.

Those lists are all political, but Contraband is a better layout. Nugget just goes by the water for the final 3 holes

Squire Creek
CCL
Money Hill
Oakbourne

That’s my top 4, I could flip 5-10 all sorts of ways to include UClub, BRCC, etc. TPC of La shouldn’t be on there, heard great things about Koasati but haven’t played it, no way 3 of the top 10 courses in the state are in Lake Charles

Kosati is great when it’s in good shape.

Don’t hate on those LC courses. Gray Plantation is one of my favorite courses.

Guess I need to go play them, I’ll still ride with my top 4 though.

Anytime, LC is a short ride down the road for me. Is GN still $175?

That list is crap . . . much lik their ranking of the top equipment each year. About 90% is based on name recognition and ease of access for public play. Hell, Lake Charles Country Club is better than the other three courses listed from Lake Charles.

Southern Trace?
East Ridge?

I haven’t been playing much due to weather, work and back injury but as soon as it warms a little, gonna be out there every weekend all weekend.

The bluffs is in shite shape. BRCC has Top 3, if not the nicest greens in Louisiana. That list is a joke. Squire should be #1.

It is insane how loaded Long Island (NY) is with great golf courses.

Friend of mine played Baltusrol recently and passed Liberty National to get there, said it’s chaotic and insane, said LN is basically built up higher than anything around there and Baltusrol is hidden where you’d never think there was a golf course, much less room for one.

Numbers 3,4 & 5 should never be on a top ten list.

It used to be a 8 year rolling average type ranking. I never really understood how they did the math. also each course needs a minimum amount of bids so BRCC may never get those rounds and bids.

I wouldn’t take this too seriously.

I always forget how spoiled I am in Charleston with nationally ranked courses around every corner.

Sometimes I feel sorry for you Louisiana baws.

The picture of #18 at TPC must me over 10 years old.
There is no trap to the right of the green.
There is no trap approximately 50 yards in front of the green.
The trap in front of the green has been rebuilt and does not have the high lip in the picture anymore.
