“In 2016, the Russian government engaged in an elaborate plot to interfere in an American election and undermine our democracy,” McCain said. “Russia employed the same tactics it has used to influence elections around the world, from France and Germany to Ukraine, Montenegro and beyond.”

poor McCain. Apparently he still thinks the dossier is true. He's been in the hospital so long he does not know what he is talking about. Can someone go update him? He apparently has not read the memo, and has not seen the underlying documents that support the memo.

What exactly do these people think Russia did?
They created bots on Facebook and Twitter.

He got used in all this. He had his staff fly over to Europe to find out more about dossier. Now it's clear Dem operatives were using him to try and bring "republican" credibility to the dossier. He was only a pawn in it all... They knew McCain hated Trump and would be willing to play along.

In 2008, John McCain ran possibly the worst campaign ever run by a GOP candidate. If you didn’t know just how desperately he wanted to be POTUS, you’d almost think he was tanking it. It was really that bad.
Eight years later, an outsider, a non-politician steps up and wins the prize he’s wanted and felt entitled to his whole life.
Of course he hates Trump. It’s no different than he was towards W in 2000. People talk about Hillary and “her turn”. McCain’s been that way forever.
