Whether they panned out or not, and we’re realistic

Aldon Smith, Mizzou(49ers)
Derrick Johnson, Texas(Chiefs)
David Harris, Michigan(Jets)
Justin Houston, UGA(Chiefs)
Derek Barnett, Tennessee( Eagles)

Smith ended up not being very realistic, but early on he was my guy and we ended up with Cam Jordan, so that worked out.

I was so pissed when the Saints took J Graham over Aaron Hernandez. Ever since then, I learned to not get upset over the draft and leave it to the professionals.

Devante Parker - Peat has been a solid choice. Loosing him hurt our run game.

Ruben Foster - I like Ram and think with Strief's age and Armstead's inability to stay healthy he was 100% the right choice considering elite tackles are usually gone by that pick. But Foster would have made our defense elite going into next year. Would love to give Nolan an elite player to train.

I also really wanted Sergio Kindle from Texas. He ended up being a goofball with the Ravens

Marcus Peters. Lattimore and Peters would be so deadly. Peat has come around though to ease the pain of passing on Peters. But man, he's definitely the one that got away for me.

Jarvis Jones

I legit thought he’d be an animal in the NFL.

Derick Johnson is the one that hurts the most. I was certain we were trading up for him, but went with Jammal Williams. Hurts even more when you realize Thomas Davis and Derick Johnson were picked right after him.

Honorable mention, was bummed when Johnathan Vilma went to the Jets and we got "stuck" with another DE from Ohio State (Will Smith). Guess that one worked out in the long run.

Some of those guys we had no shot at getting but look at that list you really think the saints would pay attention to LSU players especially on defensive side of the ball, homer or not we have missed out on some good ones.

My Jarvis Jones qualms are well documented. Between him and Kenny we definitely got the better player.

I wanted Treadwell really bad too. I just wanted a receiver because IMO it was the biggest need on the team that offseason. We ended up with Thomas and obviously it worked out so, no complaints.

To be fair, I think Treadwell would be much better here than he has been in Minny. But he wouldn't be Thomas, that's for sure.

Corey Dillon - Bengals 1997. I remember we needed a RB desperately and the ESPN draft guys where hyping up the pick, "Corey Dillon has fallen into the Saints lap" "Can't believe he's still there" etc. They ended up passing on Dillon and drafting some no-name scrub (Jared Freakin Tomich).

Jerry Hughes - Colts
Rueben Foster - 49ers
Jarvis Jones - Steelers
Star Lotulelei - Panthers
