Wow. ATC shut down a bunch of strip clubs in the Quarter right before Mardi Gras, apparently at the behest of Gov. John Bel Edwards and his "human trafficking" concerns.

LINK

At least Penthouse is still open.

I imagine they are going to sue with the quickness and seek a temporary injunction so they can operate in the short term.

Would think so. Watters is loaded and litigious. ATC will probably regret poking that bear.

How in the hell is the lovely Summer gonna pay her tuition? I guess she'll have to all the way back to Dallas, TX (aka Lutcher).

Are Bourbon Street strip clubs really known as havens for human trafficking?

Sounds like somebody forgot to donate to JBE's PAC

A lot of single moms and nursing students going to be low on money....

Also, seems they always raid the "decent" places. Not the 3 places in the east where anything goes.

Gotta focus on those strip clubs that are a supposed massive threat to public safety, yet ignore the real crime problems in the city. Typical politicians running shite in this state.

Morality police out in full force-yep, let's hurt tourism right before Mardi Gras. Seems like a Baton Rouge/northern Louisiana deal to me.

Y’all should actually read the link. As fun as the topic is for the OT, this is fricked up. ATC raids the places and issues an “emergency suspension” of their license pending a hearing on Feb 9. But won’t disclose why they are suspending the license because of “ongoing investigation.” I have seen some messed up government actions in the past but what bureaucrat thinks it is OK to shut down a legally licensed business on their busiest weeks of the year with no explanation?
