LSU opens up strong with a sweep of Notre Dame in the opening weekend before dropping 5 straight, including midweek losses to UNO and Grambling. We turn it around with 6 straight wins before dropping 3 out of 4 to Hawaii and South Alabama, an unbelievable 3rd midweek loss. At this point the rant is enraged, demanding Mainieri’s head. We inevitablely turn it around, finishing 20-10 in conference play with another SEC tourney victory and record breaking 6th-straight national seed, keeping Mainieri off the hot seat until next February

Pass some of that over here. That would be an emotional roller coaster

You must not follow the LSU baseball team that much, do you?

The last time they lost 5 games in a row was in 2010.

Yeah, that ain't happening. Tigers will dominate midweek games this season. Bookmark it, or don't.

I see a few sophmore slumps and lack of quality arms cause the hosting streak to be broken. That said PM will finish top half of league and make regional as 2 seed.

He will not be on any hot seat, not even a warm seat, unless LSU totally misses post season play. Thats not going to happen, and even if it does his job is not in jeopardy next season.

Regional host, no national seed is what we should hope for this season. With potential to be a bit better if Hess as a starter combined with a few freshman arms work out.

(Que the, we need Hess as the closer crowd in 3..2..1)

I predict LSU baseball will go undefeated, win the SEC and SEC tournament, win the Baton Rouge Regional and Super Regional, win the College World Series and posters on the Rant will call for Mainieri to be fired.

So a month in before we hear calls for CPM's head? Optimistic, aren't we?

This feels like a 2016 type of season to me. Regional host and maybe a low national seed if we have our typical May surge. Tough to expect Omaha this year with all the pitching we lost, but we're looking to set up very well for 2019.

Could be like the '10 season. Thin at pitching. Offense carried that team and was arguably better than the year before. Was kind and of a fun but frustrating season. I don't think we make much noise in post season play this year, on the road for a regional.

I hope the Tigers make me come back and eat crow, or my hat or whatever.

Why are there so many LSU baseball-only fans who despise basketball and won't even tailgate for football?

Also, these people tend to be blue-collar idiots and some of the dumbest people I have ever met.
