not sure if this is just standard or my batteries getting pretty weak and need replacement soon.

You don't have a garage?

Yea, mine has been bad for a while. Went on a trip to Massachusetts a couple of weeks ago and the cold weather did it in.
Got me a new battry from Wal Marks and haven’t missed a beat.

I just replaced mine not even 6 months ago. I also have protectors on it. Started just fine this morning.

It’s from the cold temps

Cold weather can tax an already weakened battery.

Thats what your wife told me last night

The battery doesn't drive as much current in the cold. On top of that, the engine is going to be tougher to get going. So it's normal for the battery to have a hard time starting in these cold conditions.

They sell you the shitty batteries in the south that don't need to work in low temps. Put a trolling motor battery in next time.

yes, my wife's vehicle is doing just fine.

I don't think my truck will fit in my garage. If it does it would be just barely. I just give the garage to the wife and park in the driveway.

Dongzillas go through batteries pretty quickly.

I'm afraid to start my truck. It's diesel and I didn't add anything to the fuel to protect it from gelling. Don't need it, so it can wait till Friday before I start it.

Yeah I didn’t put additive in it this time but it started fine aside from weak battery

Yeah I had to back my truck in when I had it.

Cold weakens batteries period, that's just Chemistry. Poor assholes with Teslas are seeing their driving range cut way down too... Whichever ever truck I'm not driving gets put on a trickle charger immediately and I keep a JNC660 jump starter in the truck I'm driving. Northeners don't get special batteries, they just have heaters for the engine and battery that they plug in.

This is a link to an article that explains why vehicles are harder to start when it’s cold outside. It is from NAPA
