I don't care about the price

I just don't understand what joy I'm supposed to find in wearing the same heavy arse, dense denim every single day

But your environment isn't clean. I'm sure you sit down in public places where other people have already spread their funk. Do you ever use a public restroom? You probably pick up piss juice from the floors and shite particles. Not to mention your own funk. You mean to tell me that you wear these jeans in LA during the summer and they still smell minty fresh? GTFO, you nasty arse.

You get to enjoy 6+ months of built up nastiness.

This is just disgusting.

Raw denim is the most try-hard, poser fashion statement ever created.

Plenty of people wear raw denim, an no one washes them regularly. It just is what it is, it's not a Gaston thing.

Don't spill chicken sauce on your fricking jeans.

That's bc there are plenty of nasty mfers out there. Plenty of people don't bathe on a regular fricking basis... that doesn't mean it's the cool thing to do.

Some people just enjoy wallowing in their own filth.

Yeah - 5.11's top of the line tactical pants, for less than half the price of raw denim. Will last longer. Look better. More functional.

Since I know you are going to get very few legit responses in here, I'll provide you with one...

I've been wearing Bravestar Selvage for a couple years now, and have been pretty happy with the brand. They have a bunch of choices in both fit and weight. Most of their denim is Made in the USA, but they also bring in Japanese as well. They sell their jeans direct to consumer, which significantly cuts the price to the $80-$120 range, and all of their jeans are constructed here in the USA. Solid construction, and will hold up years better than a $50 pair of Levi's will.

Other than that, you could always just grab a pair of APC New Standards.

The appeal is that the longer a pair is worn without washing them the more they fit your body. When they are washed, especially machine washed you have to start the whole molding process over again.

The fabric itself is just returning to the roots of vintage jeans. The Japanese kept it alive when the US manufacturers stopped and now it has come back to the US.

I'm not metro enough to be a hipster, and I'm employed in a way-too technical of a job. I didn't look anything like the hipsters when I lived in SF and NOLA, and now I only see them in airports. Again, I'm not put together well enough to be called that.
