I'm going to repeat this until the point gets across...those of you talking about Trump being mentally ill are simply grown arse adults who don't know how to handle losing which in and of itself indicates some sort of mental shortcoming from the libs spewing this nonsense.

At that point, I suppose that we will have mandatory Free Gorilla-Fights TV across the fruited plains AND we will be mobilizing to launch a military campaign to conquer the World.
BOTH are good ideas, IMHO.

If Trump actually becomes mentally incompetent, what should be done?
Not suggesting that Trump is already mentally incapacitated (although some are suggesting that this is already happening to some degree) but if he should actually start seriously losing his mental facilities, it would be a real problem with tremendous risks. How should we address it?

That’s wrong. Hilary used this as a talking point at the Democratic National Convention in 2016. She was actually pretty spot on.

For starters, there’s already an amendment for this exact purpose. So I’m guessing we’ll listen to that.
If Trump suffers a stroke that leaves him with significant mental damage or develops a massive case of Alzehimer's over night then, as you said, we have something in place to replace him with his VP.
An amendment adopted because in the past we have had Presidents who have become mentally incompetent and their spouses or cabinet just ran the country and pretended like they weren't mentally dead in the water.
As for booting Trump because of a mental health issue... True he is a narcissistic personality.
Well, I hate to say it, but with the exception of a handful of Presidents who were more or less drafted into the job, every President of the United States fits that billing. You don't put yourself through the stress of running for and then holding the Presidency unless you are convinced that you are God's gift to the world. It takes a big ego to be the President.
The meek may inherit the Earth but they don't become the President of the United States.
If Trump suffers a massive pyschotic break and starts rolling his poop in balls while babbling that he's going to make his pet goldfish the Secretary of State... OK... then its time to replace him with Pence. Until then he's the President.

Why are there so many downvotes? It’s a good question no matter who the president is.

It's a concern troll.
You can't ask the entire board to ignore her blatant shill reputation and assume the question is honest.
Even you know it's not.

Testing the waters are we?
The dims first move, throw out an asinine hypothetical and see what the responses are.
Next they will act on it.

25th amendment. It's a short amendment that anyone should be able to understand if you just ignore some of the esoteric Latin legal jargon.
1) Pence AND at least a 51% majority of the cabinet heads (like Sessions, Tillerson, Mattis, Carson, Perry, etc.) submit a letter to Congress saying the president is sitting behind his desk wearing diapers, babbling to imaginary friends, watching the Gorilla Channel, eating too much ice cream, and saying "watch this" as he presses the nuclear button.
2) Congress has 48 hours to convene and vote on it. It takes a 2/3's majority of both houses.
The fact his cabinet has to be involved means it is harder to remove a president based on the 25th than it is to impeach. This is the way it should be since "crazy" or "incapacitated" or "physically incapable" is a judgement call.
I think the 25th is well written and fair. For a president to be removed on "subjective" grounds it takes a lot of work by a lot of people, including the president's own allies. It's hard to do, but not impossible, which is the way it should be.

When he does become mentally unstable then he can be considered a democrat. That should ease you liberal minds.

No, you’re just ignorant. Your two examples are terrible, one isn’t even an amendment. Also, go read the 25th, it literally lays out the procedure for finding the President unfit for office.

If Barack gets caught on camera sucking Michelle's wiener, what should that do to his future in politics?
