Easy to blame the Student Section, but the rest of the building sucked tonight too.

SEC opener vs. kentucky and our student section was nowhere close to full and the ones who were there were pretty quiet. Perfect example of why the students lose seats every year.

Sounded loud on TV

no it didn't. Sounded dead.

Even the TV announcers criticized the crowd, on multiple occasions. That doesn't happen often.

I thought the crowd in general could have stood up more, but the overall noise level seemed solid.

This was my impression at the game as well

Yep. I feel like things are already better but still a lot of room for improvement. I'm optimistic for the first time in a long time.

Agree. I was at the game and felt as a fan base it was lackluster for the majority of the game. You are up on Kentucky and no life from crowd majority of the game.

Yeah, wasn't just the students...I think it took more than it should have to get the whole crowd in general into the game last night IMHO.

It was 25 degrees outside. Everybody was frozen from the walk in from their car.

I absolutely hate cold weather, but managed to make it out there for this game.

Unfortunately, the PMAC has become worse than Tiger Stadium with the obnoxious pre-recorded music.

The "new" DJ with all that Rap Crap is about as bad as it gets.

Who are the idiots in the LSUAD (Besides Alleva) that think the majority of LSU fans enjoy that garbage?

Doubt if I'll be back solely for that reason. I want to watch a basketball game, not attend a Rap concert. ...............

meh. basketball is my 3rd favorite sport behind lsu fb and baseball. I tuned in after halftime. saw them miss about 5 3 pointers in a row. I tuned out.

know who cheers? The “freaks” and “losers” that sit in the first few rows.

I’d rather a quiet crowd that don’t look like you and your boy tbh

I remember coming out of assembly center with hearing loss. Those were the 80's teams.

It’s basketball. It’s a 3rd tier sport here at LSU at best. I barely watched. 90% of threads on the Rant were about football assistant coaches. Most of my friends in town didn’t even know we were playing.

Not on my TV.

My impression was that because LSU basketball has been so bad for so long the fans were simply waiting for the team to implode (i.e. catastrophe syndrome). Maybe it will get better as the fans begin to believe in the team again.

For the majority of the game we are beating or within a couple of points of blue blood Kentucky and the student section had to be urged by the players to get in the game. Really really disappointing

agreed. I walked by the SS before tip and it was jam full. I was expecting them to be hyped, but sadly the whiteboard guy, the guy they make fun of, is the only one bringing it.

also, I love the DJ idea, but I've been to every game but one, and he is terrible at getting the crowd hyped. He has no energy and frankly, is pretty bad relative to why he is there

What game were you watching? The student section looked to be loud the whole damned night. The only quiet sections I saw were the blue hairs in the lower bowl.
