They want to win a championship.

With what they are trying to build there, LSU isnt even on the radar.

I wish LSU had an administration like them currently.

A service/product is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. It's called Capitalism. You also get what you pay for, whether that's a little or a lot.

We can get just as good for much less. Let A&M pay - he's not worth it. No assistant is.

You noticed how Wisconsin fell apart the moment he left.

LSU better pony the F up and grow some balls and pay Aranda whatever it takes to get him to stay! He's the ONLY reason the entire LSU football program hasn't imploded. If Alleva screws this up, then he should immediately take a walk of atonement right out the city!

Larry Holder @LarryHolder This isn’t good. According to this story, Dave Aranda could be announced as soon as Wednesday as John Chavis’ replacement at A&M. Aggies again in hot pursuit of an LSU defensive coordinator

shite, thats called putting your money where your mouth is hause.. they will fill that 105k seat stadium when they are winning and the money will poor in.

If Jimbo breaks through and makes it to Atlanta and/or wins the SEC in the next 3 years, then it was all worth it. But what happens if he goes 30-9 over that span? Better than Sumlin yes, but $75 million better?

You're going to have to pay Aranda and bump up Orgeron and shorten his leash. You don't let the best defensive mind in football walk out the door over more money.

I don't think so.

At this point, you offer Aranda Orgeron's job if he wants it or you let him go. You can't pay Aranda 3M to be a DC.

Now, Aranda as HC is probably on a 3 year deal. He's a real unknown at HC. But, you allow him to hire the OC he wants and the recruiters he'll need. He'll likely give Raymond the DC position which keeps him here while he truly runs the defense.

And, you encourage him to do a complete makeover of the offensive staff and give him the budget to do it.

You hope he ends up being a David Shaw heady type of coach.

Where do you think LSU ranks when it comes to the coaching staff?

Just 2-3 years ago we had by far the highest payed staff in CFB. We were paying Les 6.5, Cam 1.3, and Chavis 1.1. Then you had Adam Henry, Frank Wilson, Corey Raymond, Jeff Grimes, and Steve Ensminger making 300-700k. And Austin Thomas and Steve Kragthorpe in support staff roles. Money shouldn’t be an issue at LSU.

Man the icing on the cake is if Aranda leaves and FSU hires Raymond as DC.

This place would be epic

aTm is playing this about as well as you can play it.

1) If Aranda bites you have pretty much blown this staff up one year later.
2) If LSU counters, you have made them pay premium numbers for DC whose salary is nearly identical to the HC.
3) There is blood in water here. It's no mystery and the tone of this board alone proves it. Just by offering it will cause turmoil alone.
4) aTm has not beaten LSU since entering the SEC. The move strengthens them and hamstrings us, to say the least.
5) If they don't get Aranda they attract another big name DC with this offer.

*eta
6) This would also allow Jimbo to dick slap Alleva for not stepping up his limited negotiation skills during both pre and post-firing Les attempts.
