Most of the people on the rant are here to because they love LSU athletics and want to be around others that feel the same way.

However, there are some here that just want to feel important and they aren't as much LSU fans as they are fans of themselves. They would rather be negative about everything associated with the program in a way to hedge their opinions. If they are wrong and LSU wins, great. If LSU falters, then they get to say "I told you so."

There are too many of the "I told you so" crowd here now-a-days. Which is why I stay away more. That said, I was ridin' when we were 3-9 and I will be ridin' until the day I die regardless of record, who the coach is, what rank recruiting class we have, etc. I am LSU through and through.

Dude everyone is “ridin’”, no matter the record. Grow some balls and don’t be content with mediocricy when we have the talent year in and year out. You know why you rode in the 90’s? Because we didn’t have the endless amount of talent, so expectations weren’t that high.
The dumbest thing I read here is someone telling me to just support LSU no matter what.
What exactly do you think we’re doing?
If we don’t demand better with all the talent, all the money, all the resources that LSU has at its disposal then you’re basically telling the administration it’s okay you keep raising the ticket prices, concessions, parking, merchandise. Sure go ahead, we’re dumb, we don’t care if you win, we’re going to ride no matter what.
Gimme a break. Demand better, don’t be a pussy and let Alleva and the clown show run over you.

To discuss LSU sports. The good AND the bad. To some only one of those is allowed. Looking at both sides.

Why am I here? Love LSU, bored, and enjoy sports. Didn’t read your tome. But I am sure it was wonderful.

We didn’t expect anything from anyone, we just went out and took it. And we did it like that for over a decade. Most schools would KILL for the run we had the first 13 years of this millennium. I.E. Michigan, Penn State, Florida State, University of Texas, etc.
That's the most poignant thing I saw in this post. We no longer have this attitude. It's inconsistent on the field and with the staff, non-existent with the fan base, and the admin could care less about it. Winning is #9 on the admin's top-5 list of important things. It rings of Jeff Long's attitude of "at least we'll lose being uncommon".

The program needs to have attitude. Top to bottom. We aren't going to just win, but embarras you. Yeah, won't always happen but lets set that as the goal. The idea of if X, Y, and Z happen we win is a losing attitude. The idea of it doesn't matter what you do, we will still win is the missing 'swag'.

Of course this attitude comes from within. Individuals may have it. They may approach every play like a war and focus on winning that war every play. They may not just want to block you, but pancake you. But individuals are just that. When you don't have staff and admin adopting the approach, it will suck the wind out of the guys with turf in their facemask.

I can picture the difference in conversations between Emmert-Saban and Alleva-Miles/Orgeron. Those conversations would be the same as the difference between "desire to dominate" and "want to win". Two complete different approaches with a similar net result desired.

Frankly, the staff CAN feed off the players attitude, but only if pushed from above. Rarely can the middle push each of those in a direction. So until there is a desire and a commitment from the top to dominate, not just win, the levels down will always lack that extra oomph.

If we lacked the talent on the field or the ability on the sidelines (or the incentive to obtain that ability) I couldn't say all that. We don't.

This and peanut, I was an LSU fan for all 3 championship teams when your father was in Nutville.
Let’s getbthis straight, you get what you demand. If you demand excellence, you get it. If your staff isn’t delivering that, you find the weak link and you change.

The weak links start with Alexander, then Alleva, some of the BOS, and the head coach and some of his staff. Specifically the assistants and not the coordinators.

This is completely false. We lack the ability on the sidelines at several coaching positions starting with the head coach.
