Southeast and Acadiana are the only viable options.

Southwest. Great inshore fishing and duck hunting on the coast. Great bass fishing in the basin/Toledo.

Northwest

Eh, piney wood country and Toledo Bend.

Northeast

The food alone is worth it... Just kidding, it's the ducks and geese.

Southeast

Florida Parish communities are nice. Close to BR and NO.

quote:

Southwest

Some South Louisiana culture. Close to TX.

Cenla

Piney Woods and Military Bases.

Acadiana

Actual South LA culture.

In the end, pick your poison. It depends on what matters to you.

Louisiana is a shitty place to live. There’s nowhere nice. Every town is going to have one of the following; crime, meth, bad schools, crooked politics, or a combination.

I’m getting out asap

New Roads area. 30 minutes from BR or a hour from Marksville. False River or Old River for water sports, low crime rate, but real shitty public school system.

I'm centrally located in the southern part of the state. 40 minutes to BR. 50 minutes to lafayette. 1.25 hours to thibodaux. New Orleans in 1.75.

Having lived in larger cities and other countries, I'm just far enough away from everything to be comfortable.

And the nearest black fellow is 11 miles away

Though I would trade his family for 10-15 of the white families between here and there.

Yep and the working class has to pay a easy $500 a month + per child for school.
