It's interesting. Barbie had a smutty origin story.
I'm tired of the fricking origin stories. Just cut to the gigantic fake tits and Barbie/Ken porno please.

There was a thread of people arguing about if or did star wars take a step back in its cultural popularity and the star wars episode essentially confirms there was a "dark period" where kids didnt buy or care about star wars. Pretty good episode.

Battle Cat
That was the shite.
You started with a few figures...then got the Battlecat and then Castle Grayskull - I remember how we all thought the trapdoor was so cool.

I didn’t know any kid who cared about Star Trek.

I've watched them minus Barbie and can relate being a kid of 70s and early 80s. Had many of the Star Wars and little GI Joes but my little bro and I were serious about He Man. When the parents put their foot down at Castle Greyskull, I made an impressive copy for him.
In the mid 70s I remember having big GI Joes, Evel Knievel dolls and the forgotten Space 1999 set with 5" figures!

You were in the wrong generation for that.

I watched the Star Wars one last night and really enjoyed it. Its crazy what Kenner managed to pull off (and at a crazy price) and then how Mattel managed to botch everything over a $10,000 payment

Star Wars and He-MAN episodes were top notch. So much in my time frame. Wonder if they are going to do one on those trucks that were huge, Stompers!

Caught the masters of the universe one....nostalgic boner
I always thought the cartoon preceded the toys, so that was an interesting story

I had the Evel Knievel bike, and Johnny West stuff. I didn't have many GI Joes, but I had a ton of green army men. I had that Space 1999 set. I remember my late dad buying it for me at Howards. I loved that thing. You could make a small space ship from the big one.

That line had the potential to be the GOAT toy. Not sure what happened. It came out when I was close to reaching the age where I stopped playing with action figures, so maybe I missed a lot of it.
I owned just about every He-Man toy they made.

The Barbie one is interesting.
One of the creators got a royalty deal in helping design Barbie that made him VERY wealthy. His side story was interesting.
The deal he got was basically a massive mistake by Mattel and not a deal you would ever see anything like today.

Or that one of the downfalls of He-Man was the Barbie team got all jealous that He-Man had taken over and they wanted a female He-Man and that was the beginning of the end for boys liking He-Man.
