What are you talking about? That doesn't bug me at all.
Information like that is why I started the thread in the first place.

Or it means criminals are becoming more tolerant. Try to be glass half full.

No it did not help Mitch in his attempt to become a viable candidate for president

Can’t wait till the day he gets indicted.
I can’t believe how quickly the scandal of how he paid for the removals with complete disregard of bid laws and other things got swept under the rug.

Overall shootings about the same. Not up. Non-fatal shootings were up three percent. Fatal shootings were down almost 10 percent

what they replaced them with is so beautiful

I think it should be acknowledged that NOLA has seen a rise in property value despite the crime statistics remaining the same or getting worse.
Other cities would love to have that problem.

And was drastically down the last half of the year after a rough start. You know, directly after taking them down.
This is true as well. After the first several months, New Orleans was on pace to easily surpass the murders from 2016. They ended up with a decrease of 10 percent- 157
Compare that with 274 just two years before Katrina.

I vote that in 2018, we give NOLA a break. New mayor is going to make some changes for the better. Can at least give her a chance.
She'll be under investigation in 6 months.:

So, according to your post, taking down statues made people murder each other less? Is that what you mean?

Well, if they are about the same, that means that one year has more shootings than the Other.
And if they are about the same, calling 10% fewer fatalities from "about the same amount of shootings" a victory is just dishonest.
It isn't a victory. It was luck.
Gun violence didn't go down. It "stayed about the same" which is still astronomical. The 10% fewer gun deaths talking point is nothing but a pat on the back for something that luck decided.

Statues make good cover during a shooting. The concrete and metal with stop a bullet.
Posted on 1/1/18 at 9:03 pm to tiggerthetooth
Yep crime is even worse. So now they can blame it on something else. And everyone will forget that it was suppose to be the statues that were creating the crime.
Posted on 1/1/18 at 9:04 pm to tiggerthetooth
You do understand that statues are in no way correlated to crime right?

No. I am saying the murder rate has gone way way down over the past 15 years.
