life is only worth what it is worth to each individual. some have very low self-worth, and for those that extends to life in general. a life barely worth living is a fine line to walk.
the end result of many bad decisions accumulated, set off by some ridiculous circumstance. the solution is complicated because it involves trying to add value to people's life for them which they will never get.
a reason to value life is as simple as living a life worth working for. the notion of free money is certainly part of the problem. distraction is way easier, finger pointing is easy, unfortunately highly ineffective.

It’s a culture of violence and aggressiveness that is the bedrock of the manner in which one talks to another, deals with another, and acts toward another. Rather than using words and reasoning which education gives you, and of which we place so little emphasis on, it’s no great surprise when that doesn’t have a place in any of this, and as a matter of fact, it’s looked down upon as a weakness, or deamonzed as trying to be white. So, what’s left when you throw out reasoning and intellect, but being physical as the answer to problems?

What is the most common reason for NBR murders?
It's starts with culture. Bring tribal mindset to modern era. Part of the reason Africa is so jacked up is because their are literally thousands of tribes sprinkled across and they all think differently. Genetics have taught them that survival is based on thinking certain ways.
incorporate that over here where liberal programs such as food stamps and housing projects have given them way to much time on their hands and moved tribes next to each other into the same projects and bam... we got jamaldequa down on Evangeline.

It's Trump's fault obviously.

I've worked in NBR for years and it always boils down to disrespect bur the thing is the violent ones don't know the first damn thing about respect.
What's sad is the majority of the single mothers in NBR are trying to raise their children right to break the cycle, but it's the minority that make up the street life that have the loudest voice and strongest influence.

Sometimes I wonder how much if any blame rap has.
I think the average white kid hears rap and thinks it's just entertainment. I think some black kids see it as a blueprint for life.

The root of the problem. No parents

No structure in daily life. Schools are glorified day care centers. If someone on their street dies, it's a neighborhood event. Very common for adults to bring kids out to witness the crime scene.
Results of the root problem.
Ever try to treat a disease by just treating the symptoms? That's what BR "leaders" are doing.
Essentially we are giving the sick person meds to make them comfortable. We're prolonging the inevitable. Until the idiots in charge start treating the disease and not the symptoms, BR is just an old wheelchair bound patient slowly wasting away.

But, it's racist to treat the disease, bro.

Midnight basketball and poetry with Donney Rose will save the day

So how do you treat the disease? Take the kids out of shitty home situations?

I think fatherless homes are the bigger problem. Thomas Sowell wrote about this in one of his books. Blacks raised in 2 parent homes have the same economic success and incarceration rates as whites. Unfortunately, only 25% of blacks are raised in 2 parent homes vs about 70% for whites.
I can definitely see how rap music can leave an impression on young kids that have no real parental guidance/father figure in their lives.

I read an obituary for a drug dealer who had been gunned down a few years ago, in the obit the 10 year old son(one of 6 with 3 different moms) said how his dad always supported his dream of playing in the NBA and rapping. Those are realistic careers to pursue in bad areas.

One more: we need to make it an automatic and irrefutable presumption that a black guy who gets shot by a white cop is a good boy who wasn't doing anything wrong.

I love Sowell, and this is mostly correct, but not entirely. The rates get much closer but there is still a sizable disparity.
The problem is multi-faceted. Of course, fatherlessness does not occur in a vacuum. The cultural mores that lead to fatherlessness include a whole host of cultural problems: lack of responsibility, inability to delay gratification, legacy of poor parenting skills, lack of education, and low self-worth.

Glorification of thug life as well as zero accountability for one’s own actions.
