Miss State game cost Canada his job

The LSU offense was terrible against Mississippi State and questions about all the motion started. The following week against Syracuse the offense was better, but still struggled.
Then came the Troy game. Orgeron panicked, giving up on the offense three games into the season, even as the players were still learning it. Already fearful for his job after the State blowout loss, Orgeron prematurely gave up on Canada. The rest is history.
Had LSU beat State, Orgeron probably leaves Canada alone as LSU would have been 3-0 going into the Troy game. But LSU had lost in ugly fashion to Miss State and Orgeron simple panicked, abandoning an offense that as it turned out got better each game. It was the State game that really set all this in motion.
That’s my theory and I am sticking to it.

Agreed... until we lose to Florida and auburn in underwhelming fashion. Then Canada has a enough reason for O to start meddling

Geaux play in the street

This is how you put absurdity in 3 paragraphs. I think the long, drawn-out threads (most of which are laced with opinionated half truths and rhetorical bullshite) you've been starting have gone to your head. You aren't the TD prodigy you think you are. Sometimes it's better to just.. not type anything at all ..and quit while you're just barely behind.

I think his inability to raise his work ethic, be a team player and lift his game on the recruiting trail is what did it.

That's not the story. The story is LSU went 6 and 1 after the Troy game. That's the story.

O gets plenty of criticism for meddling, but how could he have not after the first few games' penalties and ineptitude? There was little reason for optimism heading into Troy.

If I recall, defense was just as bad in that game

The meddling narrative has taken a life of its own. I believe the extent of the meddling was simplifying the blocking schemes because the line didn't know what the hell they were doing half the time. Guys were pulling when they weren't supposed to, they couldn't pick to twists and stunts and they were missing assignments left and right.

The defense just gets a pass for that game?

The defense was getting just as many penalties as the offense. How much did O meddle there?

Maybe a bit, maybe Aranda took direction better. Unlikely but still possible

Something had to be done. All those illegal formations we're on the OC. The OC is Canada. People complained about the penalties and complain after the head coach did what a head coach should do. The man never said scrap the entire offense. For some strange reason, it was magically fixed after that. Maybe Canada stepped his game up after getting called out.
Many fans were questioning the motions at that point as well since nothing was working on offense. Of course defense had issues when they're on the field all game.

I agree with everything the OP has written. IMO, that is how things unfolded and is the single most concerning thing about Ed.
He doesn't have an overarching vision so he doesn't know what kind of offense he wants.
I'm not suggesting we fire Ed. He just needs to mature as a HC.

First year bro. New system. Good grief.

If you use that game you have to include Aranda. He gave up 37.

Uh.. they scraped it the first half against Troy. Then grosse tete looking dumb on the sideline knew he had to let Canada go. He then called all the plays from that point on. It takes time with any new offense.
