Back in the day it would be Monopoly, Spades or Uno. Past few years it's been Phase 10.

I prefer south America and build up brazil and central america for defense.
I can go to Africa or north America.
Australia is great and those bonus armies are easy to come by (2 a turn I think same as south America) but you have to hold Siam and make sure you can break out if need be. I don't like only having one way in and I hate having more than two ways in.

This is exactly right. You need to have somewhere to expand to. Two extra armies per turn doesn't really make Asia an option. North America and Africa can both happen.
