Thinking of getting the Nike Air Pegasus. Anyone have these? Also, spare me the "go to Varsity..." bullshite. I've been buying my own shoes without an "expert" telling me what my foot is doing and I've been fine.

What shoes do you currently wear to run/workout/wear casually?

Running, ASICS. Everything else, Nike.

There's a great place called varsity sports that specializes in running shoes. You get to try the shoes on before you buy them which I think is a huge plus

Brooks or Clouds are what I run in. Go to a local running store and get what fits best. They typically allow 30 day wear/return policy as not every shoe ends up working out.

Mizuno wave inspire is what I’ve gone with over the past 5 years. Are these shoes for running or just wearing around?

Shoes are way to personal. And I've got 3 completely different pair of shoes that I run in (short, distance/race, distance/training). So when people suggest going to a place like Varsity, it isn't exactly because of an "expert", it's about you trying on to see what you like. And you may like different things for different types of running.

I don't ever wear my running shoes to do anything but run. Mostly because I buy my running shoes as cheap as possible since you need to swap out every 300-500 miles. And when you buy the cheapest, they are usually the ugly colors

I’ve put about 40 miles on the new levitate from brooks... I like em. They are not nearly as mushy when you run in them as they are when you walk in them. If that makes any sense.... I usually bounce b/w saucony and brooks. Just whatever feels right at the time. Mizuno is another good one. Asics are good, but I honestly don’t know anyone who runs in them. Stay away from Nike.

Go to Varsity and get fitted, running in the right kind of shoe helps. Good people in there.

Pegs are all I buy. I have two pair of the 34's (current), 4 pairs of the 33's, etc. on back to the 2005 model.

The 34's are a bit stiff for me but I still like them. Fwiw, I think the 33's are the best model they've ever made. If you can still find a pair of those, I'd go with them. Likely cheaper too.

So what’s your question? Are you asking for people to give you advice on which shoes to buy? Got it

I see. You don't want to go to the experts but want advice from strangers on a message board. Makes sense.

I feel the need to tell you to watch out for cars.
