1979 Winnfield. 6 future D-1 players, 4 of whom played at LSU and two of whom made it to the NFL.

I'm sure there were some 5A , Evangel - West Monroe , match ups where both teams were great.

That Ouachita team with Jamie Spencer was pretty stout.

2001 WM was undefeated and beat Evangel 38-17 in the regular season only to lose to Evangel 34-27 in the Dome.

2009 & 2010 Redemptorist

Jeremy Hill, La'el Collins and a squad of highly talented athletes.

2012 Barbe with Trey Quinn, Desean Smith and company. Refs took away a touchdown that would have had them with the lead going into halftime. Completely changed the complexion of the game.

Pretty sure one of those Redemptorist teams lost to CHSNI, and a mediocre squad at that. Lots of talent though, no doubt.

The late Mark Howie, Lynn Fink etc. You'll probably disagree, but I thought that team was a beneficiary of a weak BR district.

By the way, per topic, I'd go with 1980 John Ehret.

Their have been some Patterson teams that could have legitimately played with anyone in the state, but they were always good for an absolute head scratcher in the playoffs.

2011 St. Paul

#1 seed. Lost in the first round to #32 seed. This had to be one of the biggest choke jobs of all time.

The furthest that they have ever gone in the school's 100+ year history is the quarterfinals. Granted, there was a long stretch when football was an afterthought at St. Paul's. Nevertheless, it still amazes me how poorly St. Paul's has performed in the playoffs in recent years after so many great regular season performances.

Not only that, they had a power rating of 16.078, which is almost unheard of.

Shelton Sampson and David Plaisance was a hell of a RB combo.
