Marvin Lewis - it’s “not my responsibility” to get Bengals motivated to play

If millions of dollars on the line doesn’t motivate you, then a coach surely isn’t.

Vince Lombardi frowns upon Marvin Lewis

Every year I'm surprised when I learn he's still coaching the Bengals.

He is an idiot for saying that
However, I agree. Multiple players on the team get paid more than him. They shouldn't need a lesser paid employee to do their motivating

What’s the context of that answer is there video of the question also?

If his players don't have the chest or the passion anymore then he's right. It's on the millionaires to go out there and take pride in their work. Lewis isn't running a daycare.

They're professionals. They should be self-motivated and have millions of reasons $$$ to be motivated.
But at the same time a head coach might see it in his team's (and ultimately his own) best interest to give them a little boost when he can.

It’s still a bad look to say that.

It doesn't sound right, but he's right to an extent.

He's completely right. Sounds bad for the knuckle dragger section of fan base though.

It's a bad look but he's right.
Team captains should be the ones getting the guys amped up.

Does the coach rile them up before a game? No, it's a player.
You think BB or pop for nba motivate his players, you're kidding yourself.

He is the best.
Absolutely incompetent, and doesn't even hide it

Pretty much, similar to when Saban made comments about being focused more on evaluating than winning (or something like that) his first year in Miami.
