Didn't know that they're actually now considering Canada. Good for him, he's definitely gone if they offer him.

with the new facility upgrades it now rivals the top G5 programs (some Power 5 programs even)

The stadium itself leaves A LOT to be desired.

actually hope the opposite. Other than an older coach looking for a sunset job, the Cajuns need to be the place good coaches shuffle through on to bigger jobs.

Bingo.

I don’t want some coach who’s looking to retire here. I want one who is young, hungry, and wanting to recruit and coach his arse off to draw attention from P5 schools. If he leaves in 2 years because a Texas Tech or Ole Miss, etc wants him, that means he did a hell of a job for us.

There are eventual plans for the stadium but as far as the players go, Cajun Field itself is one of the places they spend the least time. The assets a coach has to sell to recruits are the other facilities. Certainly better than a lot of schools at our level.

Pretty decent facilities, better than I would've guessed.

The last LSU assistant that ULL hired, Jerry Baldwin, was a complete and utter disaster.

I don't think they poach from us again.

don't remember people creating all of this drama when Frank Wilson took the UTSA job, which was much, much worse than the ULL job.
Frank Wilson was the Running Backs Coach at LSU, not the Offensive Coordinator. Big difference..........

I'd prefer a guy with HC experience at a lower level, but this isn't a bad list of candidates.

What “big” school, pray tell, is hiring Canada after one less than scintillating year at LSU? He would be lucky to get the ULL job.

I want Canada to stay, because I think his offense will be much better under Myles(word is Canada wanted to start Myles this year, but O shut that down and made him stick with the senior) and because we don’t need to be changing offenses every other year. Like I said, he could do a lot worse than ULL, and only MC knows what jobs he would leave for. He has to look at a lot of factors, from fan support to the AD he would be working for.

If LSU really wants to part ways with Canada; they could definitely see to it that Canada gets the ULL job.

I hope they do see to it. I think teams will catch up the gimmicky offense he runs. We did just as well last year. I do however would like an uptempo type of offense spreading the ball out to fast guys in space.

Those facilities are pretty damn good for a G5 program that is in the Sun Belt

He was also recruiting coordinator and assistant head coach.

Edit: and after seeing the pictures of ULL's football facilities, there's even more of a gap than I originally thought between the ULL job and UTSA when Wilson took over. I think UTSA has only had a football program for 7 or 8 years.

That assistant was about to be fired by y’all. Also, we had a Vice President who was trying to get his wife elected Governor. Jerry Baldwin was hired to buy votes, plain and simple.

Our Athletic Director at the time wanted someone else, but he was told by the jackasses in Martin Hall to shut up.

If you want to stay 3 years there’s an abundance of talent to remain competitive and dominate the SBC not just in their backyard but statewide. Hud just took a different approach. The same guy who took a helicopter to watch Carencro vs McDonough. Not smart and a slap to the face for the Carencro players I think

Probably the first time anyone in Carencro saw a helicopter up close

ULL is right in the heart of the most talented high school football players in the country.

But that has never translated into a high achieving program like, say, Arkansas State or Troy.
