Could todays high school generation fight WW II?

My wife teaches 10th grade honors biology in a successful public high school. Today contacted by the parent of a straight A student who wants "accomodations" for her daughter, including extended time to take tests, modification of the tests, preferential seating, etc. This is due to a diagnosis of "High Anxiety".
A mental health professional made this diagnosis, not Mel Brooks.
This is not an isolated situation. The term snowflake is routinely used when discussing the younger generation but stuff like this makes me wonder what the future of this country looks like. China, among other potential problems is not likely to countenance this coddling of teen agers. Will my granddaughters children have to learn Chinese in school to compete and exist in a world it appears we are giving away by, in part, producing a wussified generation?

It's a stupid question/premise and impossible to answer. You can't mix and match eras to fit a narrative.
I agree strongly with your characterization of today's youth, but still think the premise stinks.
As another example, I could ask the same exact question, but change it around to say "could teenagers in the mid-1800s fight the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan today". The answer is probably no.

If they had to. We've gone over this a million times. The people that get off on complaining now have a platform. 95% of people are the same as theyve always been, but that 5% is now able to be really loud due to technology.

It wouldn't hurt to learn Chinese. It would actually give her a leg up on others entering the future job market. The world and business is a much more interconnected place now. It's a good thing to know more than one language.
I hope we never see anything approaching another WW. Those that fought in it would tell you the same.

There was a very similar long discussion in the last month about this.
My position is that yes they could. Every generation thinks the newest generation is weaker and has less drive than the last. You can't judge a person until they actually go through the trials. Many will rise to the occasion and many will fail. This happened in WWII and happens today. Some of the soldiers in my platoon that I thought would be serious liabilities turned out to be the best soldiers, some of the "high speed low drag" guys turned out to be useless.
If you are interested in the quality of the WWII soldiers you might want to read some S.L.A. Marshall's determinations of the matter.
ETA you can bet many in the 1930s-40s thought their sons were pansies compared to the ones that fought in the Civil War.

I think so. I was in the Marines and every generation before us said we were soft and I'm sure I'll call the newer Marine generations soft and I'm sure all the branches do it.
But the reality is Marines and Soldiers have been kicking arse for many generations and will continue to do so. There are still young men out there willing to do it and would do it very well if called upon. I have friends who never joined but it wasn't because they were afraid etc it just wasn't there thing. If we were attacked or something major like WWII happened I have no doubt in my mind they would have joined and kicked arse themselves. Yes, there are a lot of snowflakes out there but there is still a lot more willing young people who would do what they had to do to protect America.
