Yup. Just like old people always thinks “SNL sucks now”.

Except, I think most people would say that SNL isn't really funny now. Hell, I don't think anybody I know watches it.

Do you think a veteran today is soft because of the PTSD diagnosis they may receive? Guess you haven't heard of shell shock and what that really was (hint: PTSD).

No, but that’s not what this thread is about either.

No, it’s not great now. But even when it is good, the older people can never accept it Bc “I remember when Dan Ackroyd was there”

Holy shite! I'm sitting here reading this and I click on your link to watch the movie clip and I just realized that scene was filmed right down the street from my house in Lacombe!

My wife and I jog down that bridge you see in the background nearly every week. We always stare at that house. It's one of our dream houses. We take our boat down that bayou they're standing next to.

Had no idea this movie existed or that it was filmed in my neighborhood.

this is an incorrect answer
Maybe I didn't word it properly, but what I'm saying is that a handful of high school students of today's generation could fight in a war like WW II, just like a handful of high school students from that generation actually fought in it after graduation

It's not a movie, it's an HBO show "True Detective"

First season is based out of South Louisiana; do yourself a favor and watch it if you've got the time. I will warn you though, that the first season is the only season worth watching and that it stars McConnaghey and Harrelson.

Today contacted by the parent of a straight A student who wants "accomodations" for her daughter, including extended time to take tests, modification of the tests, preferential seating, etc. This is due to a diagnosis of "High Anxiety".

This is a parent problem, not a student problem.

This thread is stupid. The answer is yes.

There’s a reason why we get 18-25 year olds to bear the brunt of the fighting in wars. It’s because they’re extremely impressionable and it’s easy to convince them to do really stupid things like storm a beach full of machine gun nests. They also have extremely low impulse control so they jump on grenades and shite. It would be no more difficult to get today’s generation of young men to fight than it was to get the generation that fought WWII to do it.

Coincidentally, it’s also why they shouldn’t be allowed to vote.
