Weird that someone who didn't go to LSU was able to get so many TDs ?

Drew Brees' stats:
6127/9165 (66.9%)
69,409 yards
482 TDs
225 INTs
96.7 Passer Rating
433 carries
737 yards (1.7 ypc)
18 TDs
7 receptions
73 yards (10.4 ypr)
1 TD
So that is 501 TDs (482, 18, 1)

Brees also overtook Peyton Manning for total completions on Sunday. He is now in second all time with pass completions.
"Drew Brees had no idea he'd passed another major NFL milestone on Sunday.
Not until Michael Thomas told him in the locker room after the game.
With the game winding down and the Saints trying to sink the dagger into Carolina, Brees unleashed a 32-yard dart to Thomas down the left sideline that set up the Saints' final score in a 31-21 win.
The pass gave Brees 6,126 completions in the NFL, pushing him past Peyton Manning into second place on the all-time list. The number flashed on the scoreboard, but Brees wasn't paying attention to any milestones at the time.
"I didn't realize it until Michael handed me the ball," Brees said.
Brees now trails only Brett Favre now. Favre completed 6,300 passes in his Hall of Fame career, meaning that Brees needs 174 completions to break the record.
Although it's highly unlikely that Brees will break the record in the final four games of this season, he's breathing down Favre's neck.
"You play long enough, then I guess those things happen," Brees said. "It just makes me think of all the guys who caught those balls, and all the guys who blocked."

Someone do a big chart on the catch distribution.

174/4 = 43.5 completions per game.
That would be insane. The NFL record for completions in a game is 45. Drew has only thrown 40 in a game once (in the playoff loss to the 49ers).
I think it is more likely Drew breaks the mark around week 4 next year averaging 22-24 completions per game.
Drew is also 2,429 yards from passing Favre for second and 2,531 behind Manning for first. He should hit that around week 5 or 6 next year passing for 220-250 yards per game.
Brees is tied with Brady for 3rd all-time in TDs. He is 26 behind Favre and 57 behind Manning so he is probably 2 years from this record.

He will have yardage and completions next year, but at his new pace, it may take a full 2 years to get the TDs

They used to do one each week in the Times Picayune. Haven’t read it in a while though.

I have a hard time believing these guys don’t know they are within striking distance of a major milestone. Especially with iPhone at their disposal. Nothing wrong with knowing where you stand. Hell, I went to the score table to check my stats back in the day pre-iPhone!

Pretty sad he’ll have the best stats ever but no one outside of Louisiana notices.
