Hmm. Not that I think they hire him, but wonder if the Chief and Aranda are on his short list for D.C.
Keep in mind one of the reasons the chief left was the Miles Clause and his belief Alleva was trying to run Les out (which is true).

Would be a damn good hire.

Instant upgrade over Butch, if Tennessee hires Les and poaches Austin Thomas after this whole mess. I'd smile and pat myself on the back if I was a Tennessee fan. It could of been Currie and Shiano, Fulmer and Miles will be a much steadier pair and set up a bright future for Tennessee imo. SEC on its way back.

Watch Les go to UT and start running a full on spread offense. Heads would explode on tRant
Never question Les Miles, nothing would surprise me with him
But seriously, as much hatred as Les has received, I don't think he is a bad coach. Sure he has his flaws like most coaches do but his recipe for success has a very high win % and its all done the correct way. Les runs a clean program and his players play hard for him

I think you're probably correct but 247 said last night now that Phil is in charge, Tee would be open to an AHC/HCIW type thing at Tennessee.
Miles for like 3 years with a clear succession plan to Tee would be a home run after this disaster of a coaching search imo

Rumors on VQ that Les Miles is currently on campus at UT meeting with Fulmer
Man, they REALLY don't want to hire Tee Martin.

As I recall, Les had a reasonably wide-open offense when at Ok State. At LSU maybe he figured he had better players than most opponents, so why take the chance with a riskier offense.
If he hires a modern coordinator, it could be interesting.

Is there any kind of verified link to this?

Make no mistake, Les benefited from being the HC at LSU and in the state of Louisiana just as much as LSU benefited from Les. Tennessee isn't pumping out the players like Louisiana and East Tx. There is a reason that a two time SEC champion coach and National Championship coach has been a complete after thought despite a record number of SEC jobs coming available

Honestly Vol fans you could do much, much, worse.
You won’t win the SEC but in your worst years you would go 7-5. You will probably have some 9-3, 10-2 years. Les would probably coach there for 5 years or so and make you better while providing stability. Then you move to the next chapter in a much better place than you’ve been in a long time.
Les will build your depth and recruit well. He will get guys from the Midwest, the Carolinas, Georgia, Florida (he always did at LSU) while getting TN guys. Just what you need to be successful.
I wanted Les out of LSU because he was stubborn, stale, and his football is ugly style. But he would be a good choice for TN now because of what I said above.

Tenn should hire Les. Tee Martin as HC is a likely disaster. Les would bring in the Chief.
