Friend's dad got caught between the couplers of rail cars at work. They brought his wife in to talk to him before they uncoupled it.

Friend driving down I59 killed when a pipe came off a semi and came thru the windshield and stuck in his chest.

2 co-workers burned to death when an oxygen line exploded.

I'm way late.

But I had a cousin who was boating on Logan Martin lake with his wife. When he went swimming, his wife threw the boat in reverse and drove the propeller up his crotch and into his stomach.

She was drunk when it happened, so they found her not guilty on a murder charge. But everyone thinks it's obvious she did it on purpose.

Worst I've ever heard was a woman who broke into a building through the chimney and got stuck. Think the building went unoccupied for an extended holiday. Too tight to move any part of her body, pitch dark, and no one to hear her screams. Alone just waiting to perish. It was hard to breathe reading the news item.

Friend (college roommate) comes home from a business trip. Wife and their three young children drive to the airport to pick him up. On the way back from the airport, a drunk Salvadoran driving an 18 wheeler hits their vehicle.

All three children and my friend die in the accident, slowly because they are all trapped in the wreckage. My friend is telling the firemen to ignore him and get the children out. The wive had enough time to say prayers with my friend.

She was unhurt and watched it all.

For my friend, who watched his chidlren pass before he went, the worst way to die, and for his wife, the worst way to live.

My friend worked offshore on a rig and somehow fell off the rig. Body didn’t resurface for a few days. Closed casket.

Good lord.

That’s the kind of situation where Suicide would be a good option for me.

A family friend was flying a helicopter when one of the rotor blades separated and the helicopter plunged in to Galveston Bay.

Also a guy who was sliced in half, right across the chest, in a BR plant. A rail car had rolled over him. Might’ve been Dow, don’t recall.

That happened to someone at Honeywell in BR not that long (~10 years?) ago. Around the same time, they had also had a chemist out doing the rounds for his shift, collecting process samples for analysis and what not. While he was pulling a sample in one of the units, a pressure relief device positioned over head paid off, and hit him like a fire hose and drowned/suffocated him in a sea of some CFC refrigerant. There are lots of horror stories from Honeywell in the 90s-00s.

Fall of 1985,my freshman year at Tech. Buddy of mine calls my dorm room one night and says our mutual friend is on the roof of the tallest dorm on campus (11 stories) threatening to jump. We run over there and start hollering at him to step back and not jump. Doubt he could hear us because of the distance, but he backs off the edge. As we're breathing a sigh of relief, here he comes over the edge. He had backed up to get a running start. You don't forget seeing someone jump to their death. All over a girl who was still in high school. Sad

In residency I had a family come in that was involved in car wreck. Drunk driver hit a limo that was driving a large family back from big wedding. 5 year old was decapitated by the wreck. EMS said that when they got there the mother was holding the body in one arm and the child’s head in the other arm.

Was this in New York? I had a guy in my fraternity who is serving 25 years for this exact scenario, killed a limo driver and decapitated a little girl when he was driving drunk on the wrong side of the road trying to kill himself
