ETA: This shite is what pisses me off about folks like you. You read something on Reddit or a social media site and then go parrot the talking points without understanding the actual details...and the people who created the talking points you parrot also don't understand the actual details.
I'm more than happy to see Title II classification reversed.. I care only about internet traffic being treated equally. As you point out.. the issue is caused at the local level. I'm just in favor of protecting the consumer when needed.

So you can’t give an actuallly answer
You asked why I think they should be treated differently.
I think no such thing.
"Should" isn't a market discussion. It's not even a business discussion. And, it's damned sure not an economics discussion.
You responded to that by mentioning what NN "says" it will do.
Which reverts us back to the reality that NN proponents seem to think it will result in NOTHING but it's stated parameters occurring. ZERO other business effects.
Which, we went over as laughable VERY extensively in the last thread.

Fined. Not NN or Title II.

Wait...are you saying a mobile provider counts as an ISP?
Interesting.

This is the key part. Title II and NN isn't needed. As shown by all your examples of the issue being resolved via fines or market forces.

True, but the case he linked was specifically dealing with mobile services.

Right now Verizon is the least of the bad guys
Bc they offer top tier service at a decent price
50 down fiber to the door, no cap and a good price I wish I could get it here.

So I'm supposed to believe that we will enter an internet wasteland
It'll be an internet by and for corporate interests, with huge artificial barriers to entry raised to keep the little guys out.
Instead of the open platform for all that it has always been, it'll instead be restricted and regulated by whoever has the most money.
Innovation will be stifled, at least in the US. The biggest tech innovations and the jobs that they create will be overseas.

simply by going back to the way things were February 23 2015? My internet worked just fine then.
quote:Please don't dismiss this as alarmist propaganda. The concerns are real, and ISPs have already in the past decade attempted most of what we're worried about. They had mostly been "testing the waters" because the regulatory future was uncertain. But now with the administration's blessing, the anti-competitive and anti-consumer behavior will become more common.
Alarmist much?

Eh. I have 100 down over cable. Fiber is only useful at Gig+ speeds.
Hell the latest DOCSIS 3.1 is good for 10Gig speeds over cable though.
Using 4096 QAM which is ridiculous

100 fiber >>>Cable
Just the fact that during peak hours you are not loosing bandwidth and sharing it with others.
Hell I would speed test over what I paid for during peak usage hours

This might, and I stress, might occur in densely populated areas.
I've gotten 100MBs or better not matter the time of day and I live five minutes from downtown Columbia in a densely packed neighborhood.
Now I will give you that fiber is much, MUCH more reliable than cable...even though I've yet to lose service here in over a year.

Verizon - Choose the Fios fiber-optic internet speed that works best for your home.
Whether to a phone, tablet, or computer.. treat all internet traffic the same
