BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Alabama's Christian conservatives see Roy Moore as their champion. He has battled federal judges and castigated liberals, big government, gun control, Muslims, homosexuality and anything else that doesn't fit the evangelical mold.

Wave your flag, God wins in the end.

How many times are you going to post that fake news poll?
Just pathetic
Just pathetic

Thats fine. Just glad its not you and Rapin' Roys God.

Any vein of Christianity that aligns itself with Roy Moore is not a vein of Christianity I want any part of.

Who shall you align with? Baby killer Moore?

I'm not into making moral equivalencies between ideological beliefs and actual human behavior. If that's what you have to do to justify your support for a man with no ethical character, knock yourself out.

what qualifies you to define Christianity?

Where did I define it? There are hundreds, if not thousands, of different faiths under the Christianity umbrella. I want no part of one that aligns itself with Roy Moore. There are plenty of others that do a better job of promoting my interpretation of the faith.

quote:For people like Moore, faith is little more than a political platform and a social and professional necessity--something expected in a deeply religious place like rural Alabama. Even though I believe that religious observance is good for society and imparts many positive influences--even among the non-believing--the Moores of the world just discredit faith in public life.
Thats fine. Just glad its not you and Rapin' Roys God.

Do these "Christians" not realize they're hurting their religion by supporting a child molester?

I have a lot of good people in my family who are Christians. I have no issue with what someone chooses to believe. Whatever floats your boat.
That being said, to your point, at the end of the study from which I pulled the graphic they discuss the causes of the decline in Christianity among the young and the conclude that it inextricably tied to the archaic social positions of people like Roy Moore. If Christianity wants to turn the ship around they need to start shedding the dead skin and start acting a little more like Jesus.

It's all about Politics. Both Moore and Trump are defenders/promoters of traditional Christianity. Neither or perfect individuals; nor is their moral behavior flawless. And you can damn well bet that the airmen on the Enola Gay were Christian too.
Beat Jones...then we'll go from there. If the people of Bama find Moore's Seat offensive, then THEY can replace Him. If Mitch/RINOs try to pull some Senate crap...they'd better be ready to get in the mud go all in. RINOs/Swamp v Moore...Moore wins.

I think this is due, in part, to the dems refusing to take down their own filthy politicians when there is actually PROOF. They see the double standard and say "to heck with it". If they aren't playing fair, why should we abandon someone when there isn't any proof at this time.

So which faith have you signed up for?

If Moore did those things he was accused of and repented of them, why shouldn't Christians forgive him? If he did not do those things, why shouldn't Christians rally around a man who has sacrificed his career to stand up for Christian values?

I worked for a Christian company for 3 years and we did our own Marketing research on things similar to the chart above. Every single research project we did - came back the exact same: Christianities close ties to Political agendas was driving away millennials by the millions.
This was an EXTREMELY conservative / Republican driven company btw, we had no "goal in mind" or anything, it was just the facts.
