The "frick" is there for emphasis. Consider it a firm no. There is no room for your second plea.

It may feel rude to you because at that time, the guy just wanted milk, not world peace.

Someone prefers talking to their aunt about her three divorces instead of hanging out with a dog.

I give to things and help people when I can but I detest pandering inside and outside of grocery stores. It's playing on people.

I say “I already did” when really 98% of the time I did not.

My response:

No.

Because I don't base my decisions on emotional bullshite or peer pressure.

My response:

Yeah, sure.

Because I probably should donate more and this is such an easy and painless way to do it.

I’ll make my own donations to causes I deem are worthy. I don’t need to contribute to a grocery stores’ tax shelter.

I was going to say, am I the only one who usually says yes? I’ll always round up, sometimes will say no if it’s a whole dollar, but whatever, I don’t make any one off donations usually so ok sure I’ll do it if it’s a once every couple of months by the business.

I hate when the explanation for the charity takes like 20 seconds to explain and I have to sit there and listen knowing that I'm gonna say no

Me too. I guess we're too polite to interrupt, but it would save them and us time if we did.

Guess I’m an a-hole because I have no problem just straight up telling them “no”. But I also tell panhandlers “no” instead of “sorry, I don’t have any cash” like most people do.

Do these businesses take a corporate deduction for a gift to charity?

I have reached the point of asking for a receipt for my donation. All I get is a puzzled look.

My cynical side always thinks the grocery store gets to keep a large portion of the "donation".

I say yes pretty much every time, unless it's the second or third time they've asked in a month or whatever.

By my guesstimate, saying yes to donating a dollar has cost me roughly $20 or less per year. It's $20 I probably wouldn't have donated, so I'm glad they ask.

I'm not going to judge someone who says no either, but it's really not a big deal.

I have given a dollar to those things a few times, or bought a piece of candy to donate to the children's hospital around the holidays. Just when I happen to get caught in a good mood. I generally don't like it though. Feels kind of scammy, and I feel kind of like I can't trust where the money is going.
