had Cannon's two point conversion been ruled good, LSU would have won back to back National Titles and SEC titles.

Lets win for Billy.

Tigers were expected to lose or at least were underdogs. Watched the game out of town at an Tennessee Grads home, he was crest fallen.

It was a great win!

Your dad isn't alone. Everyone I know over the age of 55 still claims there is a picture somewhere that shows Cannon over the line.

That was PACKED. That's back before football games became social gatherings for the "casual fan" that only shows up because it's the in thing to do.

From the picture in the OP, it looks like he's short. Just look at the shadows. The sun is perpendicular to the goal line, and the shadows of the TN players in front of Cannon are at about the half yard line. Look where #14 is. His knee is on the ground between the 1 and 2 yard lines.

Cannon's shadow is obscured. If he was past them, then you'd see that shadow closer to the goal line.

NOW, there is no evidence by just this one photo that he did or did not score, because we have no way of knowing at what point in the play the photo was taken. For all we know, Cannon surged forward after this picture was taken and crossed the goal line.

Didn't he throw 3 picks in that game?

Jim Bob Cooter was the guy who had a great game.

The last drive was awesome though. Doucet scored that TD in the Endzone we were sitting at. Just me, my brother, and two random LSU fans surrounded by Orange and Colquitt's grandmother

He did, but he still went 24/36 for 247 yds. and 3 TDs plus 7 carries for 82 yds on the ground. Pretty impressive numbers considering the 3 picks.

I 'member. He had the big run in that one too if I recall.

But it could be argued that the 3 picks led to the situation at the end, though I don't mind in hindsight

But man, Jim Bob Cooter. IIRC correctly right over the top to Meachem.
