The OT peaked from 2008 to 2011.

I opened the Kucinich thread I started on the Political board and I'm kind of feeling I was a bit ahead of the curve:
quote:
Social Justice, I distrust that Utopian term.
Hayek said:
"the prevailing belief in social justice is at present probably the greatest threat to most other values of a free society".
In other words, the only "remedy" for social injustice is for the State to abrogate individual freedoms and eliminate the rights of individuals to choose their professions, succeed or fail, etc. Then the State organizes the social order according to IT'S conception of what is morally right.
The demand for "social justice", consistently advanced, is really the demand for a command economy organized by a totalitarian state.

Meh. If you take the best threads from the OT, SEC-OT, Movie/TV, Food/Drink, Money, Tech, Music, Travel, Book, Health, Gaming, Outdoor, etc., you can still get the same amount of "classic" threads.

I'm pretty sure "Cajun Reb" was driven insane by the IRS. He eventually went all "one-issue" and started posting about how much he hated the IRS and I imagined he was in some deep shite with the government because he disappeared suddenly.

He wasn't the conspiracy guy that killed himself? I am confused.
Posted on 11/10/17 at 11:33 am to cajunangelle
No. The young guy that killed himse was the chemtrails guy. Very sad. Totally different guy. He was a young and likable kid from St Martinville.
CajunReb was an older guy and very pissed off. Potted Plant was always wrong about shite but very amiable. MDGeaux later became "Baloo" and he was EASILY the best poster from the left side of the spectrum ever. We spent hours ripping each other-he gave as good as he got. I found Unknown consistently hilarious, but the admins hated him or something. And GMB drove people insane but I loved the guy. And of course there was Toothy....

God Bless America!
When I think of all the folks who visit this site on a regular basis, my first thought is that the common thread that runs through us all is that we are Tiger fans. We have much more than that in common.
We are Americans. We are faithful, prideful people who love living life and we put aside our differences as we stand to support our fellow citizens. We have enjoyed the freedom of seeking "a better life" wherever we choose across the United States. We have kissed our sons and daughters as they headed off to war. We have listened to the innocent laughter of kids playing in fallen leaves in autumn. And we join together to support our nation's leaders during times such as these.
Take a moment to say a prayer for our fallen citizens and their families. Each of them sons and daughters. Pray for our leaders so that they will seek God during these trying times and that they will be guided by faith.
Take a moment to find your nearest blood donation center and give blood.
Take a moment to reflect on our blessings. Even in the midst of such tragedy today, life goes on. For many of us, it will be forever different.
The next time you hear the Star Spangled Banner being played, be proud. Think of the values that our country stands for and think of the price that others have paid so that you and I can enjoy this thing called freedom. God bless America.
