Grave of the Fireflies

Just as a warning, it’s pretty much a story about 2 children starving to death during war. That’s not a spoiler being that is the first line of the film.

The ghetto liquidation scene alone from Schindler's List is enough to put in at least the top 5.

Playing sports all through high school Friday Night Lights is the first movie I can remember really making me cry, so it's definitely up there for me.

I'd also throw in as a campy and corny answer, 8 Seconds
"Lane Frost, he's riding for you my friend!"

Pretty much anything where a dog dies. The end of Marley and me was heartbreaking.

The first two posts had the best answers.

The final scene of the Champ is just gut-wrenching.

The final scene of Field of Dreams is so meaningful, wistful and cry-worthy.

ETA: And Bridge to Terabithia (at least the book) was so sad.

Maybe the saddest movie I ever saw was a TV movie: Alex The Life of a Child.

Radio Flyer.

Edit: see there’s scenes in movies that get me. The first 20 mins of Up. When Andy gives away Buzz in toy story 3. “Hey dad, you wanna have a catch?”

But overall, Radio Flyer is one of the saddest most depressing movies I’ve ever seen. Even the resolution is depressing.
