Dig Dug, Donkey Kong, Centipede and of course PacMan. Right off campus in the early - mid 80s. Best of times. Hit up Round the Corner, Library, Louie's, Godfather's, Bengal, etc. Before Chimes...

Some friends opened an arcade in our neighborhood in Harvey/Marrero, on the Expressway. We could ride anywhere between the Canal, Barataria, the River, and the Expressway...we could ride our bikes to the arcade. It lasted about three years or so, but what a great time!!! Especially during the summer. Two bucks, and air conditioning.

Pac Man
Defender
Asteroid (had one at K&B across the Expressway, too.)
Galaxian
Galaga
Phoenix
Dig Dug
Gorf
Berzerk--"Intruder Alert, Intruder Alert"
Qix
Qbert
Space Invaders
Missile Command
Death Race
Star Wars
Tempest

Gauntlet with three other guys in the arcade at Loyola, always fun

PGA Golf, Baseball, trac-ball soccer and football.

There was a Defender-type game, but with a chopper and old school military targets, man can't remember the name.

Good days.

Great thread!

I miss arcades so much. They were awesome.

Dig Dug I played at a Shakey's pizza that was here in town at the time. That and Joust.

Donkey Kong was a big part. Played it at a place called Pat O'Carroll's.

The main arcade was in the mall, it was called the Land of Oz. I remember playing Zaxxon there, Karate Champ, Moon Patrol, Star Wars, a game where you were in a tank driving it around.... Battle Zone?

Dang Dragon's Lair always sucked me in because it was a "cartoon." That game was so hard. Yet you'd stand there and dump in a bunch of dollars in quarters.

Gauntlet (elf shot the food!). Then you'd go next door and get a slice of pizza and a coke, even if it was a Sprite.

Played the heck out of Pac Man at a little convenience store right across the street from Prien Lake Park.

Tron at the local skating rink. I think I spent more time playing Tron while wearing my skates than I did actually skating. I loved that game. The light cycles!

Good times.

Arcades are making a comeback. They are for adults now and are bars. Winston-Salem has three downtown arcade bars. These are places with fifteen or more machines.

Spy Hunter- while driving on 10, at times I wish my car had the oil slick, smoke screen, knife extension rims and front grill mounted guns....or I could just bump the car next to me off the road.

I owned Spyhunter.

Don't think this is 80's but I could walk into any arcade, pop in my two quarters and play Street Fighter 2 all night on 2 quarters. No one could beat me.

Won a few Tecmo Bowl tournaments back then as well.

And I could play Tetris until it stopped getting faster.

Tron

Ours was next to a Godfathers Pizza. There was a dark empty field nearby for mugging with the 8th grade girlfriend. It was like paradise for this sun-britches and Union Jack tee shirt wearing cheeseball.
