Shows how deep their farm is.
They are going to be good for a reaaally long time

44.2 innings last year 2.01 ERA

In the 2017 campaign, Cishek opened with the Mariners and ended up moving to the Rays via mid-season trade. With an excellent push down the stretch in Tampa Bay, he ended the season with 44 2/3 innings of 2.01 ERA ball and 8.3 K/9 with 2.8 BB/9. As usual, Cishek was tough to square up; he permitted just 26 base hits and three total home runs on the season.

I’ll take that.
Can’t be worse than Hector Rondon.
Prayers to whoever signs that scrub.

Cishek was good last year, especially after he got to Tampa
2.01 ERA overall in 45 innings
1.17 era in 30 innings, .84 whip, 8.5 k/9 post all star break

Seen Houston linked with him a few times the last 48 hours
After reading Cubs game threads over the years I feel like I’d already be prepared to noose up before he even took the mound for us

yeah, a few games you’ll think “why do I get so mad at this dude. He’s not that bad.”
Then he’ll walk two guys with two outs and give up three run homer to Brett Gardner in the top of the 9th.

Lol Texas signed Anthony Gose like a week ago and he was picked up in the Rule 5 by Houston.

Such a Luhnow move to address our lefty bullpen concerns

Rondon is a nice rehab project for a non contending club, I don’t really want him on the Astros

Duquette on extending an interested team a window to negotiate with Machado as a condition of a trade: “I don’t see that as a viable option.”

Wonder how many teams are lowballing them, after what the Yankees gave up for Stanton knowing Manny won't be back in Baltimore and he wants an extension.

damn, looks like there was a snag in the piscotty deal. Hope that goes through, what an awesome thing cards are trying to do for piscotty.

Looks like it's back on track. Cardinals getting Yairo Munoz and Max Schrock in return.

Yeah, Piscotty had that little run 2 seasons ago but couldn't get on track last year. Glad we decided to keep Grichuk.

I still think he's a part of whatever package is put together for an AL East 3B.
From what I heard on the radio today, the offer to the Orioles was to try to gauge the market, but they aren't going to pursue it. Donaldson is the next target.
They may be forced into Longoria if they want Colome bad enough. I'm still skeptical that the Cardinals will get Archer, but maybe taking on Longoria's deal makes that more of a possibility.

I don’t think the Rays will attach Longoria to Archer just to get rid of him and soften the return for Archer. I’m sure they want to deal him but his contract isn’t some albatross, even for a club like them. Archer will net a premium return and there’s no reason to rush into a deal now just to get rid of Longoria

Longo wants to stay fwiw and it isn't like his contract is an albatross

Nice move by Cardinals to get Piscotty near his mom.
When his mom came down with ALS, he went in the tank. Now he will be able to see her daily, while not on the road, and be near her.
Neither prospect is great, just adds depth 2 positions the cardinals do not have depth at, 2b and ss.
And ALS is a muther f'er, one of worst a person you love can get!
