Good riddance’s to another season.

Baseball has been a total joke now for
years and years with no end in sight.

Why is it a joke? One of its biggest issues is its revenue disparity.

This was an issue in the 90s and has become more and more absurd ever since. For starters, there are plenty of teams who is gross revenue is LESS than other teams payrolls. How can this ever be considered a respectable league in this is going on? If you rank the teams highest to lowest in terms of payroll, the last team to win the World Series with a payroll in the bottom five was the 2003 Marlins.

When I was growing up in the 90s, I didn’t realize how incompetent the league would become. In 1991 the Oakland Athletics had the highest payroll in the league. By the end of the decade through today the highest payroll has consisted of either the Yankees or the Dodgers. The days of teams like the Athletics having the highest payroll is dead and buried.

MLB will forever be a sad pathetic joke.

Not sure I've ever seen someone confuse whose for who is.

Possibly the worst year to make the argument you just did.

Without a doubt the most entertaining year in a long time.

So what small market NFL and NBA teams are winning championships?

It's a reasonable point, but the Marlins won one World Series with the highest payroll and one with the lowest payroll.

Best thing about baseball is teams can spend whatever they want (no penalty until $200 m). Wish NFL would do it.

Out of 30 MLB teams, the Astros had a payroll in the teens, the bottom half of MLB. The Verlander acquisition added to their payroll, but they just won the WS with an average payroll.

Funny how you conveniently omitted the NHL, which had Pittsburgh winning back to back championships.

To answer your question, Cleveland.

U f'in moron, revenue sharing is why the Padres can keep Meyers, and not trade him away, and continue to restart with players every 4 years.

It's how Pittsburgh has been able to compete and keep players.

You know, if you replace all occurrences of "MLB" with "Texas Rangers", OP makes sense.
