Way more black people than the original. I didn't know lions were black.
I mean, it's set in Africa.

Oliver and Rogen are clearly miscast.

Oliver I can see as Zazu because Oliver already does look like a bird, has a similar accent, and has made a career being the butt of his own joke.

Rogan though, no fricking way. I’m having a hard time coming up with a celebrity who would be a good Pumba.

I’m not all that familiar with Billy Eichner (Need to watch more Parks and Rec), but someone kind of just jumped out at me who would have made for a good Timon: Louis CK.

Edit: thought of someone who could make a good Pumba due to Parks and Rec: Patton Oswalt.

who the frick is Azizi and Kamari?

I’m glad Jones is back as Mufasa, why not bring Jeremy Irons back for Scar? It’s such an iconic voice

also what’s with all the black washing? or is it a double standard? If you did a remake and cast big characters that originally voiced by blacks with white people, they’d be protesting in the streets

Probably because the background is Africa... would be too much backlash if they had has many white actors as the animated version.

It's being hyped up as the "blackest Disney movie ever"

So? Are the animals in Africa black? I thought it was racist to compare blacks people to animals?

Because if that’s the case, tell Disney to cast the next Cars film with Chinese actors because the car parts come from China.

Although I think Cumberbatch would have been pitch perfect casting as Scar, I would rather have Irons back than Jones. His Darth Vader just seemed old last year during Rogue One, and unless they get a much, much better voice director there, then I am concerned if it won’t just come across as old and a bit disappointing.

If they weren’t to go with Jones, I’d pull a reverse from his last Disney role and cast Idris Elba as Mufassa. He could definitely pull that off.

You’re an idiot. The one thing the Chinese can’t make is a fricking car. Seriously name one person that you know of at all that gets a car imported or made by a Chinese car company? At least say Japanese, German, or Italian.

No. I’m tired of that dude and his inflated ego being inserted into every film franchise under the sun.

Yeah, but you prove my point that the average American doesn’t know the difference between China and Japan, which is like not knowing the difference between Germany and France.

It’s okay to make those associations if it benefits AAs (jobs as lead actors). It’s not okay otherwise. That’s the PC POV at least.

Well, that movie bombed there, likely for reasons I suggested it would.

1. It was a typo
2. France and Germany are culturally more different and had a bigger impact on my life
3. Hypothetically even if I didn’t know the difference between China and Japan, it wouldn’t have any bearing on my life

The Chinese and Japanese cultures are extremely different. Way more so than Germany and France actually.

Not a weeb, don’t care, but this is a lot of emphasis on a typo, but it’s a free country so
