I'd go insane watching that defense year after year if I was a TT fan

No DC is gonna change that.

3 star talent gives you a 3 star Defense

And that offense makes it even worse.

You can create offense with misdirection ect. But 3 star dbs arent gonna cover 4-5 star wrs no matter how much coaching up you do.

Kingsbury looked like he developed an identity complex vs. ISU. After slinging it all over the yard in a game they should've won in Morgantown, he RPO'd his team into dust vs. the Cyclones.

Numbers tell you run? Well you kind of suck at that, Kliff. And your little bit better D can't hold up vs. a team with man pants.

I think he's in the same place Dana was last year (before he hired Spav and now can't run the fricking ball) where the lightbulb is flickering on the air raid bullshite.

To answer the OP; short of losing out I don't think so.

If Kliff gets fired, he'll be Joey Freshwater's OC at whatever P5 school hires him.

Even though they are only about 4 or 5 years apart in age for some reason I picture that relationship being something like the one in the movie Cocktail where Joey is Bryan Brown's older guy Coughlin while Kliff is the younger guy Flanagan played by Cruise.

Joey has the talent but always had the big one slip away. Even though he likes Kliff and sees a lot of himself in him once they start to have a little success he will start using Kliff to score/steal women and increase his job opportunities elsewhere eventually leaving poor Coach Shades left behind wondering what the hell just happened.

There was a long standing rumor that he used to go around bars using the alias Joey Freshwater when boozing and trolling for women.

I doubt it happens but it’d be funny if both Sumlin/Kingsbury got fired and Sumlin took the tech job.

Sumlin had his best years when KK was his OC correct?

Yes. OC at UH 2010-11 and A&M 2012.

Records of 5-7, 13-1, 11-2. Sumlin has only gotten 10 wins once without him.

I doubt TT fires him, but who really knows.

Tech loses 27-3 today to TCU at home. They seriously need to consider cutting bait as they should always be winning 7-8 games/yr.

Probably not but he should. Leach showed their ceiling is higher. Kiff should come be the OC at LSU.

Doubt it. Not a high ceiling at TT

I agree they are never going to be a powerhouse but missing a bowl two years in a row? Mike Leach proved that winning 8-9 games every year is attainable. No way tech should continue to put up with what they have now.

Especially with what they pay him. 3.5 mil for 3 conference wins a year.

It's crazy to fathom, but Tech was #2 in the BCS this weekend in 2008.

Beat the national runner up that year also. Then Craig James dopey son had to ruin it.
