Has anyone else had this happen before? Some of them weren't on at the time. I will now have to replace 5 of them along with the direct tv boxes as well.

I've had that happen before. Lighting struck my parent's house. Blew out the computer, the central A/C and two TVs. My dad was so pissed.

I had some cable boxes get destroyed in a fire. Better hope insurance covers it bc it was something like $500 per cable box charge from cox.

Subtle brag about owning more than one TV. Very impressive Mr. Rockefeller.

Nope. All other appliances seem to be working fine for now.

Did it strike your satellite dish? If so, make them pay for it all for not properly grounding the dish.

Homeowners will cover it, but you have to get 2 or more electricians come inspect and fill out affidavit to say it was lightning damage. I only lost an oven and one tv, didn't make deductible.

4 bedroom house with 3 kids so each has their own. One for me and the bride and one in the living room. The one outside under the patio works fine!

I had a tv ruined recently. The weird part is that it was on a power strip with three other things, none of which were affected.

Same thing happened to.me a few years back. Besides tv,s, computer and phones immediately being fried, AC had issues, computers, dishwasher, swimming pool motherboard all had issues down the road. Basically, anything with an electrical board can be affected, so take the time to look at every5hung that is connect3d by plug. In my case, I had coverage for the dir3ctv and boxes and homeowners policy covered the rest. Good luck!
