How long until the NCAA bans football players from hurdling defenders?

It seems like the number of players hurdling defenders has increased a great deal this season. Today a UCLA player actually stood on an Oregon defenders shoulders when he couldn't complete the hurdle. LINK There were several other games where guys doing it got lit up when they landed.
Will it be right after the first kid gets seriously hurt doing it or will they leave it alone?

Hey will leave it alone.
People do it all the time and I haven't seen anyone get seriously hurt.
Going over the middle for a pass is more dangerous.

Where did all the hurdling come from?
What happened to lowering your shoulder and laying wood?

Outside of literal paralysis it probably won't get worse than Jahvid Best against Ore St.

Might as well ban Russell gage from playing if you do that

If the runner wants to put his body on the line and risk injury let him.

Reggie Bush started it.

I think they will eventually call it a penalty because the injury risk is the exact same as hurdling over the blockers on punt block attempts and they just made a rule for that starting this season prohibiting anyone from jumping over blocks.

It's really strange. ESPN ran something not too long ago about all the hurdling this season. You used to see it pretty rarely. Two different LSU guys hurdled today in the same possession.

Hurdling defenders was my signature move in high school. Never got to pull it off, but I had a plan.

New targeting rules makes it more likely for defenders to go low to make a tackle, thus more oppurtunity for hurdlers

they won't - you can't tell players any more when they can or can't stand

Was just about to post this. If they didn’t make it illegal after this, they’ll never make it illegal.
I tried to find a gif that didn’t show what happened after he hit the ground because it was absolutely terrifying.

It's banned in high school in several states. Hurdling is a penalty on the offense

What’s your deal?

I think it should only be a penalty if you kick the defender in the face.

As soon as they ban defenders from tackling below the thigh

As soon as it costs Nick Saban a national title, it will be banned.
