Looking for some music to add to my workout collection, and it's surprisingly difficult to finds bands that suit my tastes.

I'm looking for metal bands that play hard & melodic rhythms, have a robust discography (no one-hit wonders), and a singer that can actually sing and not growl.

Couple examples I like are Rammstein and Type O' Negative.

Any recommendations?

Pantera....there's growling on most of their tracks but the Cowboys From Hell album has some good vocals.

Judas Priest

Def Leppard (first 3 albums, maybe 4 - Women and Gods of War on Hysteria are great workout songs)

A lot of Queen will fit the bill - particularly 70s stuff.

Sabbath? (Ozzy's voice is definitely unusual, but you can't accuse of him of growling during the Sabbath era)

Dio (borders on growling - but I don't think he gets there - great workout stuff, too, on Holy Diver)

Krokus

Scorpions

Alice in Chains

Soundgarden (related - I workout to the first Audioslave album all the time, baw)

When I was lifting heavy in my 30s and early 40s, Puddle of Mudd was my go to.

The most testerone filled band of all time--Manowar. I used to listen to their shite before rolling outside the wire in combat.

If their songs don't get your blood boiling, then you're comatose.

Theory of a deadman. I never worked out to their tunes, but I will soon. Or perhaps some Saliva.
