Dude have you been to Minot, North Dakota? That place is one of the worst places on earth in winter time. Young Guy maybe just got depressed living in that place and said F this place. Didn't think about the consequences till now.

It's a massive state any really easy to become anonymous down here especially the further inland you move.

I was a chaser for a while in the Marines. Would sometimes have to pick up guys from the brig and take them to appointments, etc. Many were deserters. There were a couple old guys who managed to stay AWOL since Vietnam. Not nessesarily living a double life but still managed to avoid authorities for 30+ years. I think guys like that usually get court martialed and discharged. Nbd.

Jeffrey Michels, 64, was arrested Thursday on charges of desertion after he failed to report for duty at North Dakota’s Minot Air Force Base on July 6, 1977, WFTV reported.

I feel like 40 years more than meets the time limit on a game of hide and seek.

No shite. Where my families place is in central Florida, people that live an hour away have never heard of the name of the town.

He can easily be thrown in jail and it wouldn't surprise me. We picked up a deserted after 10 years. Dude became a truck driver, trying to provide for his mother and kids. The CG preferred court martial (I didn't agree, just wanted a bad conduct discharge) and now he's at Leavenworth.
That sucks. How much time did he get?

Just like Venus Flytrap.
Except Johnny Fever went with him when he turned himself in.
