Do You Keep Walking When On An Escalator?

It baffles me how some people are content with moving up/down at a snail's pace on those things
Are they really that lazy that they can't take any forward steps once they get on one? Are they in some kind of simple minded awe that a machine is moving them and they like to look around? At least have the courtesy to favor the right side so I can walk past you if I want
It's even worse when a fatty is taking up the entire width of the escalator and you're trapped behind them.

Anyone who has ever lived in a big city knows the escalator rule
The only thing more obnoxious than someone who doesn't are the little escalator zealots who huff and puff because they have to ask someone to move over

This should not be. Mitch Hedberg rolls in his grave.

What long arse escalator are you riding that gives you enough time to get this irritated?

is this 1997 where we're taking escalators in malls?
Posted on 10/17/17 at 2:34 pm to philly444
depends on if I am in a hurry or not. Sometimes I just enjoy the ride.

Long escalators, yes.. But a short one like at a mall, I usually go with the flow.

Subway escalators in a big city can be pretty long. Especially when compared to an average escalator in a mall or something

My wife and I got into a pretty good argument this weekend when we were in the Charlotte airport and I told her I thought I could beat her in a race with me running on the normal ground and her running on the fast track thing. Hope that answers the OP

Calm down and enjoy life's little luxuries.

Take the stairs if you want to walk
Posted on 10/17/17 at 2:58 pm to philly444
I usually sit down and just ride it.

What type of douchebag rushes up or down an escalator? Enjoy the ride dick. There's nothing that important in your life that you have to push past people on a fcuking escalator that takes less than a minute to reach the top or bottom. frick you

Remember that time you got in the fight at the mall? And the guy slung you out of your chair and onto the escalator?
Your friends found you 10 minutes later just rolling at the top?

I mean, if you're a grown man and your wife isn't some Olympic sprinter, you should be able to win this every time. Those things don't move that fast. Plus you have the advantage of running on solid ground and she has to land on the belt while running.
